I totally don't get it when Bobby tops John. Seriously. I like the jokester/innocent Bobby. You know the type of person he is in Comic!verse. I don' know much about evo! so I can't say anything about that. And no matter what anyone else thinks in my opinion, Bobby bottoms to ALL even females. *nods*

Thank you. I have never been able to get how people see Bobby as a top. Ever. Especially over John. Just...no. Bobby is John's bitch.
I can't speak for comics, but I've been reading the novels, and Bobby's all jokey and insecure about his powers (and life in general) and he is no way a top.
I mean I can see Bobby topping on special occasions. But John would still be in control. He'd have to agree and stuff. But generally speaking except for special circumstances Bobby is a bottom any way you slice it, movie verse or otherwise. Basically he's only on top if his partner LET'S him be on top.
I've only read the third novel! X.x; must get hands on first and second. Heard many good things about them but gah....
In the comics Bobby's all jokey and insecure too. He's one of the most powerful mutants in existance, he just afraid I think to experiment with what could be done with those powers. I hold the firm belief that Bobby could cover entire continents in glaciers. If he had any self-worth or esteem. Which he of course doesn't. >< Crap I'm going to start ranting on Bobby's emotional state and stuff.
Not ... the novelizations of the movies, but other novels. That have been written about the comics. I mean, I've read the movie books, too, but there're a ton of others (triologies are popular). I'm in the middle of Empire's End at the moment, which is all focused on the shi'ar (sp) and Charles/Lilandra, and it takes place in space. Oooo.
Uhm, yeah. To other matters... When I first started to write for X-Men, I only knew the third movie!Bobby, and a couple of fics--hell, I was that unfortunate that I didn't even know the comics at all, or even evolution, though I saw it a couple times when I was young, but I didn't realize what it was-- becuase I was unfortuante and such, and I suposed that influenced by view of Bobby quite a bit, considering the fics were kind of all Innocent! Bobby ones. I think.
I guess I just grew on that idea a bit, becuase that's basically a bit of my Bobby. Slowly I'm integrating the other verses as I see them, but the center of my Bobby is going to be kind of 'innocent' so to speak.
But it's nice to see everyone's diffrent take on these sort of things.

Actually I'm fine with everything, as long as it's well written. It's the author's job to convince me of whatever scenario he/she has chosen. That said, at the moment I tend to write Top!Bobby. Or rather, Bottom!John, whom I see as a manipulative little bastard who is so in control of everything that is going on. Uhm. But that's just me. Anyway, I think it's interesting to have different interpretions of a character.
Ehm...can I just say that I'm thrilled to find another Bobby/Sam shipper? They so got it on in comicverse, or should have, at least. Then again, I tend to ship comicverse Bobby with everyone -- Sam, Northstar, Chamber... sigh.
