Another day, another rofl.
This morning I had another session of CS300 with DrxHerron, or as I like to call it, SL101 (Introduction to Sleep). I wish I were joking. I slept for 30 straight minutes, which is a first for me. It certainly doesn't help that it's an early morning class with the most monotonous professor under Digipen's employ, and I swear to god, the speakers were playing white noise the whole time. What the christ.
Another first for me was trying to run my netcode on the school's new XP network. Of course, the firewall blocked it, so I had to get the admin to UNblock it for me. He comes over and sudos off the firewall. He stands there, like "hay guyz i solved the porblem!" I look at him until I'm convinced that he really believes that turning off the firewall on my machine is the best solution. Eventually he breaks down and decides to unblock the port range 8000-9000 for everyone. What a swell guy. Of course, there will probably be tons of broadcast collisions, because people are all going to be using 8888 or 8765 or some shit like that. Oh, well. That should teach people to verify their packets before using them!
Becky and I finished watching the most recent seasons of The 4400 and Six Feet Under, and neither of them disappointed. 4400 was a little over-the-top, but SFU had the best series finale that I've ever seen. Now I just need to watch the six million other shows I've been missing. Shit.
As for the citizens of Vana'diel: you guys are a bunch of fags. It's just a game. However, if anyone's just playing FFXI, like I am, you'll be pleased to know that you are well rewarded for repeatedly beating rabbits and bees with a stick, but you will be assraped for trying to fight a monster that the game tells you is 'easy prey'. Fucking easy prey my ass. The cool part is, I can't increase my weapon or magic skill unless I'm fighting comparatively difficult monsters, and those are exactly the ones that either kill me outright, or poison me, or at the very least use all my MP and make me sit on the fucking ground for a few minutes. Fuckers. Partying had better be more rewarding.
