Thanksgiving Is On The Horizon
Everything Sucks! I hate everything. Nothing is good ever. Everything has taken on Plato’s form of “The Bad.”
Okay… so not so much…. but gosh darn it….. I’m off… okay I still have to work tomorrow… but tonight was going to be a nice pre-Thanksgiving break start….. my roommate left this afternoon, Chris left this evening. Adam was nowhere to be seen so I figured he was gone. 9:30Pm rolls around and in he walks…. just walking up to my computer while I’m searching for new admittants to my porn chronicles…… yeah….. fuck no…. get away from you leafheriubgrgn!
So yeah… there goes my plans. Now he’s watching the Lakers game and generally annoying me… time to blare music and drink alcohol. Oh yeah…. that is the life.
So… I got invited to like 7 different people’s Thanksgivings. It’s really cool. There’s just such a warm community feel here and all the people in my classes and in my department feel all family like. I mean… I turned them all down… mostly because I finally get my apartment to myself and I have like 25 papers to write before the semester ends in like 3 weeks…. how on earth is it that close. I mean fuck…. it’s almost Christmas.
Also speaking of fun times with people. Oh God…. event last Wednesday. So… it was Professors and Wine…. all the classes end 30 minutes early (6:30PM)… we all go back to the department, get some food, mingle a bit and then one professor gets up and talks about what his academic journey was like an what he’s doing career wise. It’s just awesome and helpful and great for getting to know your own department. And there’s good food and wine and stuff.
So anyway….. the event kinda ended after 45 minutes because a second set of classes begin and a lot of people had to go, but the rest of us stayed and chilled. Well… me, Abby (one of my fellow GA’s, and Patrick (a teacher and officer in the army) stayed and talked. We’re all in the same class so we know each other and we get along great. So we stayed and just kept finishing of bottles of wine. It was good.
However…. we got a bobnbus visitor who is this guy… he’s a theo grad student I think… he teaches in the phil department…. he was drunk as can be and just following us around. So annoying. He kept trying to smoke in the building… we yelled at him… and then he was singing Billy Joel as loud as he could…. Oh God…. I mean….. son…… just no. He was special. And then a professor form the Classics department tried to get out of her office and he shouted her down and kept trying to get her to join them and she kept trying to leave… it was so sad. Then he up and disappeared with a bottle of wine… so we bolted… got in Abby’s car andwent to IHOP for some awesome midnight breakfast…. I got some awesome butterrocks pancakes and has browns and then ate all of the food everyone else didn’t finish. I mean… when I’m drunk… I can eat for 5 people…. they bet me I couldn’t do it…. they were wrong. I won’t let good food go to waste. It was awesome…. so much fun.
Also… today…. they were decorating for Christmas… which is not the story…. also there were two dudes running around the building in a Batman and Robin costume… it was crazy shit. It was all….. Batman Robin say what?! It was very distracting and scared people coming to work and doing serious business in our department.
So I think this ends this entry for now……. mostly…. totally time to go play FFX until Adam annoys me so much I have to stop… which hopefully will not happen. I can hope.
