I HIKED A FREAKIN' GLACIER!
I HIKED A GLACIER THIS WEEKEND, WHAT DID YOU DO?!
HA!
This weekend was seriously incredible! Driving across the country alone was cool, and seeing more amazing stuff in another National Park was cool, but hands down the COOLEST thing was HIKING FOX GLACIER!
It was a hell of a lot of hard work - we pretty much hiked up the face of a mountain through rainforest to reach a part of the glacier that we could safely hike on and it was a LOT of up hill climbing. My legs are sore as hell today from climbing mountains two days in a row, but it was TOTALLY worth it. I never would have thought slow-moving ice could be so fascinating and beautiful, but it was.
We totally lucked out too, normally the weather is pretty shitty on the west coast, but we had sun shiny days both days we were out that way (and apparently the weather was total shite in Dunedin, so we picked the PERFECT weekend to get the hell away).
Other highlights included: Blue Pools + suspension bridge in Mt. Aspiring National Park, hiking to the top of Haast Pass (not the hiking, the view from the top), driving on all the wind-y roads (even when I did spin out a little on some ice - oops), the west coast beach, seeing Fox Glacier and Mt. Tasman at sunset, driving through the southern alps on the coast of Lake Wanaka at sunset, interesting little pizza place in Wanaka.
It was an amazing AMAZING weekend. If I ended up not being able to take any other trips, I'd be sad, but at least I've had two awesome weekends in a row filled with fantastic adventure! New Zealand is everything I thought it would be and wanted it to be.

I'm going to go to the gym immediately after work and get a good workout in, then go grocery shopping and then head back to the hostel to relax.

I like it better than the names my sisters got stuck with, but there are other names in the world I like better.

I hiked a glacier yesterday and am currently eating a ham and cheese sandwich...of course i'm freakin' happy!
-What were you doing at 10:00 last night?
Driving from Wanaka to Dunedin on nice and slip-y roads!
-Last person who drove you somewhere (besides your parents)?
Well, I THINK Jubal sharing the driving with me as we trekked across New Zealand counts...and if not, Davina gave me a ride back to the hostel one day when I ran into her as I was walking through the Octagon.
-Are you a morning person or a night person?
DEFINITELY night person, my peferred sleep schedule is 4am-noon...I've slightly modified my habits to being a morning person though for the duration of my stay in NZ, seeing as there are so FEW hours of daylight here (and I work)
-Are you a forgiving person?
Most definitely, there's very little I would consider bad enough to not forgive a person for.
-Who was the last person to smack your butt?

-If you could move anywhere right now would you?
I'm good RIGHT where I am for the moment :-D...it'd be nice to live in NZ for longer than just the 3 months though, it'd be a great like, 5 year place.

I'm currently living in a hostel with at least 10 other people, some of whom are long term, and others who pop in and out weekly.

I am capable of it, yes.

Not played so much as watched and laughed.

I LOVE my job. It's not what I would want to do for the rest of my life, but it's a fantastic opportunity while I've got it!

I woke up at the ass crack of dawn, rolled out of bed and came into work where I've been "diligently" at work since then!
