The last week has been really busy, and I think it's finally caught up to me.
Thanksgiving was "interesting" with my family. Most of them I only see once every few years. It's kinda of strange since we all grew up together seeing each other often, and now it's like we are strangers. I felt more like I was the "in-law" than like it was my family's gathering. Just two hours was enough to totally wear me out. When we got home I couldn't even be in the room with Paul, and I was down for the next two days, hurting, just hurting. Saturday night I was finally feeling ok enough to want to get out of the house, so we went to CostCo for a little while just to get out.
Tuesday I finally called to cash in my Groupon for personal training at Fitness Together. It had to be used by Dec. 24 so I figured I'd best get busy. I also finally managed to get my hair cut and then went shopping for a while at Parkway Place. I ended up leaving with 2 new pairs of boots (one of which is probably going back) and a new purse, as well as having picked up the gifts for the gift exchange with Paul's family.
Fitness Together had an opening on Wednesday so I went for my first session. I was a bit worried about overdoing and also just that they wouldn't understand my limitations and try to push me too hard. However, it went well. The girl who is training me, Heather, was really interested in Fibro. Evidently, her FIL has it and they are examining whether or not her husband may also have it. That's really interesting since it's rare to see it in guys. I ended up doing a lot more than I thought I'd be able to. She started me out doing push-ups and I really didn't think I'd be able to do any, but I managed 2 sets of 10. I felt like jello when I left, especially my upper body. But, it was my lower body that was really sore for the next 3 days. Today is probably the first day I'm not really feeling the pain from it.
Wednesday night I have dinner with several of the ladies from the Painted Bra Project. That was really nice as it gave me a chance to really get to know some of them better that I hadn't previously. We have plans to get together here next week for Barb to give us a little lesson in Copper Work and make Christmas ornaments.
Thursday I actually felt decent, surprisingly (I thought I'd be dead after all I did Wednesday). I wanted to get out so I bugged
caughtinaflame to come meet me for coffee. That was nice as we hadn't hung out in a while. After that we went over to Parkway Place and let Zoe play in the play area. I was hoping there was a sunglass kiosk there, but I was out of luck. It seems I had lost my last pair of sunglasses.
Friday Paul and I decided to go to Chattanooga to see the lights at Rock City. I was tired and I wasn't really sure I was up to it but I wanted to go and I was afraid if we didn't go Friday we wouldn't go. It didn't help that before we left town we had to run some errands and find me some sunglasses. The longer I was out in the sun without them the worse I felt; the sun gives me migraines. We did finally get me some and get some lunch and that helped me feel better enough to try making the trip.
We got up there and found an awesome place for dinner right near Rock City, a place called Cafe on the Corner. We had these awesome pork and collard green eggrolls. Neither of us like collard greens normally, but this was so good. Then I had the Filet and Bleu Cheese mashed potatoes with asparagus. It was all so good! I also tried a wine I hadn't tried before that was excellent as well. We were debating desert but the lady at the table next to us (obviously a regular) told us we had to try the Chocolate Mocha Cake. It was so amazing! When we were done I said I didn't care what the lights looked like, dinner was worth the trip. The lights could have sucked and I'd been happy. Truth is the lights weren't all that. They were just ok, and for the price you pay, I actually enjoy regular Rock City more.
Saturday I was tired but I pushed and we went out intending to go to the Craft Show and lunch. We never made it to the craft show as when we got downtown the parade was just getting out and people were everywhere, so we just decided to wait. We went over to Pratt and checked out a couple of the little stores there. Then we decided to just go home and put up the tree. That became a debacle of itself. I wanted to do a bigger tree this year since we are hosting Paul's family's Christmas. I wanted to do a real tree, but Paul wasn't up for it. So we ended up putting up both of our trees (a 4' table top that we normally put up and a 6.5' tree). In the end we decided to go with the bigger tree. Then we couldn't find enough lights so we had to go buy some, only to get home and find the ones we already had. Everything is up and decorated now. Sheka and Erin decided to stop by while we were decorating so we got caught up with them and finally got to bed around midnight.
Today I'm just tired, worn out. I feel like I could lay down and go to sleep right now, but I am trying not to in hopes that I can maybe sleep tonight. Instead I'm watching the Harry Potter marathon on tv. I have my second workout scheduled for tomorrow and then I'm supposed to go and paint tomorrow night with Karen and Rich.
