I'm still fiddling with the layout, so bear with me. Titles and things must be changed. And possibly the header. Hm.

Rather than actually responding to the prompt for today, I just want to note that “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” might be one of my favorite stories.

And I'm off to fiddle with the layout.

EDIT: Alright. Flipped the layout around entirely.

I'm glad Olympic swimming is in the first week so I won't miss it by being at school. It probably sounds like I'm kidding, but I really want to try to go to the Olympics. I doubt I could honestly make it because I've never been good with sports, but I've also never tried that hard at sports. Really, it's been gym classes and one gymnastics class I took when I was six or so. Who cares about gym classes, and I really didn't like my gymnastics class because, well, I was terrible at it. My mother says it was because I joined the class after everybody else, so they'd already been practicing the little stuff like backwards summersaults and things. I didn't know this at the time: I thought I was just completely inept. Anyway, I'd imagine even if I did make it to the Olympics, it wouldn't be until 2016, and probably because Chicago had them and therefore more Americans would be able to go. Also, I'm fairly sure it would be my only shot. But I want to be one of the best at something. And I want people to know it. Really, it's great being the best at an office job or something, but it's nice to have people recognize it, too. Really, I want to be Michael Phelps. In fact, I would consider my entire life to be a success if I could match his medal record, but if I ever make it close to that point, I'll have to reset my goal to beating Michael Phelps.

In any case, it can't hurt for me to start a sport. And the university rec center has a pool with lanes, so I should be able to go several times a week, if not every day. Oh well, we'll see. Probably will never happen so I should just stop thinking about it now.

On a completely different note, if you haven't seen The Wind That Shakes the Barley, it's a fairly good movie. It's about the IRA, and Cillian Murphy's in it. There was some stuff I think they could have changed (the ending, for example), but overall I liked it.

And I think I'm going to go edit a few of my things from my last post.

movies, olympics
