so roomie's gone for good (well, she might come back to pick up those dirty dishes she left). she came in as i was slumped on the bed eating oreos, grumbling about not having a tv, and said she was moving out. got some big plans- got an apartment, i'm assuming with her boyfriend (if she said so i didn't hear her), and she's thinking about transferring to university of north carolina, that is if she gets accepted. cheaper, she says, her mom's not that happy even so. i didn't expect to be so happy about this, but i am. it has nothing to do with rene, but her bare mattress and blank walls suddenly seem very promising. perhaps i can turn this little hole into a nest after all. and i can walk around naked and masturbate whenever i want...not that i didn't do that before. i don't know if i'll be able to handle a roommate next year, i think i'm rather spoiled now.
short term plans are rather dull right now though, i'm spending so much time on the computer my neck is starting to hurt. of course, rene moving out means i have to get some stuff for my own- fridge, tv, fan for when it get's warm again, dvd player. though it was a little inconvenient of her- if she had told me at least a week before i came back, i would've been able to get this stuff when i was home. but enough, this is not a time for a rant. i can't believe how happy i am about this.
saw "a brave new romeo and juliet" last night. there was more gattaca than huxley in it, but that's fine, both are worthy. i enjoyed it- though i was beginning to realize how much i do not like romeo and juliet, as much as i adore shakespeare. also - and i will say this as vaguely and elusively as possible and those who also saw the play can fill in the blanks - there wasn't exactly a level playing field in terms of acting. certain people were more convincing (way way more convincing) than others, and the imbalance was a little awkward, especially with the profound slide between dramatic and comedic. but it was a good show, some really original circulation going on.
