I am fresh out of the shower and I thought I'd update this a bit
Sarah J. came home this weekend after being in New York all last week for choir schtuff. It had been a while and it was really nice to see her again. That, and she had gifts for me from her trip =0P I had a miniature Statue of Liberty she bought me last year when she was in NY for the same choir stuff, and unfortunately it had been destroyed in an accidental fall caused by my cat, Leo. She returned from her trip this year with a brand new (and slightly larger) Liberty to replace the broken one. I love it. I've always wanted one...and since 9/11, I've wanted something commemorating the World Trade Centers. She came through with a mini replica of the two towers as well- thanks babe! She stayed the night on Saturday and watched hockey with me the whole evening...then she was gone Sunday morning, back to school =0\. Don't worry Sarah, you'll be back home soon!
I dislocated my thumb Sunday afternoon. I went roller blading with my friend Tim for a good part of the day and we decided to go back to his house so he could show me his new Xbox. While I was pulling my skate off of my right foot in his living room, I lost my balance and tried to regain it by pushing up off the back of my skate. For some reason, my thumb like, gave out, and all my leaning weight smashed my thumb down and out of place. The sound of my thumb popping out of place was so loud, that Tim heard it while he was in the kitchen and came out to see what it was. My thumb wasn't in pain right away, and so I made the decision right then to pull it out, and set it back to normal. I did, and immediately the pain and swelling kicked in. You know how when your body goes into trauma and you get that sick to your stomach feel? That was me. I started sweating and I felt like I was gonna puke. Tim went back into the kitchen and grabbed me some water and two Motrin. By the time he came back, my thumb and surrounding area had basically blown up twice the normal size. It was dark blue and red. I called my mom and told her what happened, seeking some advice. She said I probably saved myself a trip to the hospital by setting it back into place. Looking at it now, the swelling is almost gone, and the normal color has returned. I can almost move it around like my other thumb, but it's still sore if I move it a certain way. I don't want to stress it out too much, too soon. I have hockey on Thursday and I plan on skating...if it's better than now =0)
It's nearly 10:30 now, and I want to watch Rush Hour 2. I picked up three DVD's last night, Rush Hour2 being one of them, Blow was one and Tombstone was the other. I watched Blow and Tombstone last night. I should have saved them for the rest of this week. I need something to watch when the Wings aren't playing...speaking of which, the Wings played Anaheim last night and lost, 8-6. It was a friggen wild game, and even though he had two goals, I still think Fedorov is a dope.
Eh, I got off track from my movie plan. I had so much more I wanted to get to, but I guess I'll update this more tomorrow...time to watch Jackie and Chris.
more later...
