OH HELL YES!

So after I gush and gush about my city and my teams, the O's go out and make a statement. I was listening to the game at work on my headphones (Thank you, MLB Gameday Audio), and when Payton hit the grand slam, I nearly jumped out of my seat. I was able to hold myself to just fist pumping, but I think I momentarily frightened the intern sitting ( Read more... )

I know, the Devil Rays... what is up with that? Our catch phrase used to be "Devil Rays... good for what ails ya!" Since that was the only team the O's seemed to be consistently beating.

One of my students was at the game today. I'm sure I'll get a full report from him tomorrow.

Yeah, but even though they've gotten better, we still do well against them overall. I'm a bit skeptical on them, but maybe they are for real? I don't see anyone running away with the AL East this year. Not even the Red Sux.

Oh man I was totally at that game. And yes, there were a shit ton of Sox fans in my section, and yes, I drowned them out and told them to kiss my ass after Peyton's amazing grand slam. Also I peed myself a little. The Boston jerks behind me were so obnoxious a few of them got kicked out/arrested. Some kids in front of me had a sign that said “This is Birdland Red Sox Nation.” At the end of the game some drunk and boisterous O's fan ran up and ripped it in half. Soooo funny.
I hadn't been to a game in almost two years....so this was a pretty damn nice game to come back to. :)

HAHA. I would have loved to see that guy rip the sign in half. It's about time people got some spunk back. A commentor on a thread had said something to the effect of, 'The organization needs to stop catering to families who live 30 miles away and come maybe once or twice a year. The Ravens don't, and they're thriving. Get some younger people in there who will actually make some noise and bring some fire back to the stands.'

Becca and I wanna check out some minor league games, too. They're cheaper and have more of a down-home feel. Plus it's a glimpse at a very romising future.
