Century mark
This is so cool, I just had to share. Today my grandfather Charles Ferguson (mom's dad) is 100 years old! He will be celebrating this milestone by playing a round of golf with my parents and then home for lunch and a new digital TV and cable installation (he doesn't know about this last part yet so mum's the word) so he can watch golf in HiDef. This Saturday, the entire family (3 kids, 9 grand kids, 9 great grand kids) and his friends are gathering together for a big ol' party at Bob's Big Boy. At the direction of my sister, we've each contributed at least one page to a scrapbook which will be his gift.
I suppose you could say his secret to longevity would be clean living. He's never smoked, rarely drank alcohol and has always been an active, outdoorsman. Even a broken hip two years ago didn't slow him down much. He walks every day, golf's three days a week and has a garden that keeps him occupied the rest of the time.
The real amazing thing is that he just had his driver's license renewed for five years! I doubt he was surprised but he did say that he was going ask his doctor if he could get the same deal!
