Day 2:  Alcatraz, Sight seeing, Aquarium by the Bay, Giants-Cubs game

First of all, last night, after finding Rachels apartment, we went to this place to eat that was technically an asian dance club, but rented out a corner bar to a place called "Nicks Crispy Tacos".  Odd.  The food was pretty damn good.  And cheap.  After that we went and sat at a wine bar called "Amelie" and just chilled out for a little while.  Good times.  They had this neat lighting thing on the wall made out of wine bottles dipped in red paint and frosted or something.  It was cool.  I took a few pictures, but Im not sure how theyll show up.  We then went back to Rachels apt and waited for her boyfriend to meet up with us.  We then left and walked to this place called something like "bourbon and branches" but the sign out front said "anti-establishment union" or something to that effect.  We had to ring a bell and say a password before we were allowed in.  The place was super neat.  It was a total speak easy, complete with a fake book case door.that opened into another bar that was open to the public.  The place we were at was by reservation only.  I had a sweet pomegranite, ginger, lime something or other.  Walked home and crashed.  The window of our rooms faces an alley and is full of garbage dumpsters like all the way down the alley.  I guess half of them get emptied at 3:30am and the other half at 6:30am, because we woke up to what sounded like numerous car crashes both times.  Neat-o.

Ok, Wed morning awoke and got all packed up, swapped rooms, and took off for Alcatraz.  It was neat, Im not usually one for audio tours or museums when Im on vacation(probably because my mom and dad always made us do so much of that sort of thing when I was younger), but this was neat.  Im totally buying The Rock with Sean Connery and Nic Cage when I get home.  In fact, its a crime that I don't already own that.  After alcatraz, we walked along Fishermans Warf for a bit and found an In N Out Burger.  I had never been, but Danielle had.  Pretty good stuff.  Then we went to the Aquarium by the Bay, which was cool.  Kind of like Underwater World at the Mall of America, but smaller.  They had two tunnels, one that was recreating marine life in shallow water like under the docks and around the piers surrounding the Aquarium, and the second was deeper waters similar to around the bay.  Then there was an area where you could touch star fish and Leopard Sharks and some rays of some kind.

After the Aquarium, we took off to find the Tattoo Art Museum, only to find a Tattoo Shop in its place.  The guy inside said the museum closed in 2001 because the owner thought all the stuff in it was too valuable to just have out in the open or something, so he closed it down.  Lame.  Saw the famous Lombard Street(the really curvy street) from afar.  Came back to the hotel and vegged for a little while.  We then headed out for AT&T park.  We met Rachel there, and wow, I just can't believe how amazing that park is.  I never really thought too poorly of the metrodome, I knew it was old and run down and shitty, but seeing such an incredible park like AT&T park was just jaw dropping.  I was speechless for the first 10 minutes.  We had pretty good seats too, and a fight almost broke out about 10 rows in front of us.  We even got an extra inning!  Cubs won 4-2 after 10.  We walked back to the hotel from the game and showed Rachel the hotel and our room.

Tomorrow I think the plan is to go to the Museum of Modern Art(if its still there, ha), go on a cruise around the Golden Gate Bridge, Go to a record store called "Ameoba Records", finish up some gift shopping, and spend the night at Rachels apartment.
