[Right around 9, this wandering vagabond insomniac passes by a guy with a magical doohickey. Then he backpedals and takes a better look.]

[The expletives catch Egon's attention and he turns to find that he's gotten an audience.]

This... this detects psychokinetic energy.

[Right, probably doesn't explain much. Small words, Egon.]

Ghosts.

Oh. Okay. Hmm. [He's just gonna walk circles around Egon as he tries to examine the thing.]

So you're looking for fucking ghosts in this place? Really, of all things?

[drspengler]

Yes. [His tone suggests that he's thoroughly confident in his research. He continues scanning nearby objects as he explains.]

Ghosts and other spectral beings are based in an inter-dimensional realm. Their molecular makeup is very different from ours and contain elements that are easily transfigured. If I can find clues as to the transformative cycle that we all went through when we entered this dimension I can possibly find a way to get us out of here.

[Pyro follows Egon's movement as he talks.]

[He turns to face the guy and regards him for a moment.]

I make a living through a science that most "respectable" scientists have considered make-believe. We all need to learn to look outside the box.

[Tilts his head at him.] Y'know, you look familiar. Y'know Ilsa by any chance? Mighta seen you drop by our place once or twice, or something.

[drspengler]

[He pauses and stares at the man for a moment, as if trying to recollect.]

... Pyro. [He nods and gives a wry smile.] Ilsa's mentioned you a few times. You're her-...

Yeah. That thing. Shit's assigned, blah blah blah. Kinda nice, though-- it's a lot better than a drone, and she's pretty awesome. I'm sure you know.

So, uh-- What's your name, then? Mine kinda goes with the whole flamethrower, fire-obsessed thing, y'know the drill.

[Nods with a knowing smile.] Yes, I know.

Dr. Egon Spengler. [He doesn't reach out for a handshake and doesn't seem to think there's anything odd about that.]

Actually, most of my interactions are with test subjects. I was originally introduced to Ilsa because she has a lot to offer my studies.
