World cup soccer awesomeness -- USA and England advance!
And then while I'm making dinner I hear a snap, crackle, and pop, and no, the Rice Krispie elves have not shown up in my kitchen--a car parked across the street from my apartment building is ON FIRE. The engine is inflamed, the tires begin to pop from the heat, I watch pedestrians watching and taking cell phone cameras, I call 911 and am told they are already on their way, I watch the tree by the car catch fire and feel sorry for the car parked in front of the flaming automobile, because really, they didn't ask for this and the car behind them? Totally illegally parked. That's gonna be fun for insurance. The fire trucks come and I watch them put it out and then I continue on my business and meet up with Jim at his work, as per usual, and we dine together.
And I totally heard "I Swear" by All 4 One on the soft rock station today and I flashed back big time to 7th grade.
