So where did the first part of October go? It has been a very busy couple of weeks for me. So here is the news.
Weight Loss: now at 95.5 lbs. I am still losing but it has slowed down some. I need to get back into the gym. My hours at work got changed and this has impacted my gym schedule. I now work 8-5. I know it’s only 1 hour later in the day, but for me it is making it harder to get to the gym. By the time I get out of here and home I ready to either take a nap, have dinner and take a nap. So starting tomorrow it is back to the gym. Even if Ray can’t go with me I am going to start going right after work at least one day a week. Then will go on Saturday morning with Ray.
The good news/bad news on the weight loss front is that I am now down into my clothes from 10 years ago. Thank goodness I didn’t give them away! The bad news is that most of those clothes that fit are my formal “work in the city” clothes. Think that could be a hint to change my job? As far a casual clothes go, I am limited to about 3 pairs of pants. I am really going to have to do something about that soon! I put on some scrubs to do ceramics in this weekend and I could have fit
kathrynmills (top part) in with me! I am really happy about this since before surgery the scrubs were to tight for me to fit into.
That being said does anyone need size 22-26 clothes? My taste in clothes has a tendency to run to colorful and comfortable.
Ceramics: Vicki came out and poured for me about 2 weeks ago. I was able to get all of the stuff cleaned and 90% of it has been through the first firing. Now it’s time for the creativity to start! Ray also found 3 more Christmas/Yule themed items in the cupboard in the garage. I have about 3 pieces that have been base coated black and are ready for color. Also I found 4-5 pieces that just need sealer on them. So production is in the ramp up stage!
Of course there has to be some bad news. I owe people (guild and customers) pieces. I still have 2 pieces that I owe a customer from Pcon. That will be the easy one. They will be done by the end of next week. They have been poured. The big surprise was finding out that at PCon there was a sale that was suppose to get shipped after the event, of finished product, that was on the shelf. Some how that stuff got put back on the shelf. Some of the items I still have and are packed away. Some of the items have been sold and I just need to pour them and make them again. Some of the items I don’t have and may not be able to recreate. Since the items are packed I will need to wait till November when we do our next event in order to find them.
Guild Stuff: Goblets for
brthnbabies , one needs touch up and the other needs white gold. This may actually get done sometime in the next couple of weeks. I will have several pieces that will need overglaze firing which is what has held these items up. I hate firing up the kiln for 2 or 3 pieces. Also the mysterious disappearing thermometer has been located and will be touched up and completed. I owe
kathrynmills her goblet, which means I need to find the info for the goblet, was it the tall or the bowl shape? And get that poured. Then it needs to get airbrushed and fired. I have about 4-6 items to airbrush so if I can figure out which goblet it is and get it poured this week it may make it into this production cycle. I have vowed never to volunteer unmade product for guild purposes again! No more over committing! The good news is if we want jewelry (pins) for guild members I have some great celtic knot patterns for silver jewelry that can be made with a lot less effort and which can be used as awards. However warning to guild people we are talking real 99% silver and this won’t be cheap! I know I can’t afford to absorb the cost when it is sold by the gram!
Ok now comes the part where I need positive energy from everyone. I need good thoughts on the financial stream. A new roommate…new job…a significant raise… I will be putting the room back in the paper and posting to Craig’s list today. I have some other items in the works, I just need them to materialize.
