Yunho/Jaejoong | pg13
they have to get married because of a dumb promise their grandfathers made to each other
previous Jaejoong's eyes flutter open; it's too hot. It's way too hot. For some reason the air conditioning seems to have been switched off and the blanket feels like a bloody heater. He tries to move but his entire body seems paralysed. Jaejoong groans softly, there are beads of sweat that's warming his face. "Good God." Jaejoong sighs when he feels hot breath on the back of his neck. If he only knew Yunho liked to cuddle in his sleep - he would have asked for a room with two beds. "Yunho." Jaejoong tries to shake the arm that's so tightly wrapped around his middle. "Yunho, get up! It's too fucking hot."
Yunho mumbles something hardly coherent and Jaejoong buries his face into his pillow. "Yah! Jung Yunho!" Jaejoong tries to kick Yunho's leg. "Yunho, wake up before I kick you in the balls!"
"Wha happened?" Yunho snorts, easing his hold over Jaejoong.
"The air conditioning isn't working and I'm sweating and you sticking to me isn't really helping."
"Ugh." Yunho groans. "Sorry, I switched off the air conditioner. I felt cold."
"You could have just increased the temperature."
"Couldn't find the remote."
"Please switch it back on and take my blanket. I don't usually use the blanket."
"Okay." Yunho says and rolls away to switch on the air conditioner. Jaejoong sighs when the room gets cooler. "Thank you." Jaejoong says. "Here take my blanket and stay on your side of the bed."
"But." Yunho tries to argue but honestly, it's 2 AM and he's sleepy so he just sighs. "Kay."
Jaejoong is honestly way too used to sleeping all by himself on his bed to actually allow anyone else - husband or not, to use up his personal space.
But when Jaejoong wakes up two hours later to use the washroom, Yunho's rolled back to Jaejoong's side and buried his face into Jaejoong's neck. The twenty year old sighs and struggles out of Yunho's grip. "Noooo" Yunho whines softly in his sleep.
"I'm going to use the washroom, I'll be back." Jaejoong says.
"Okay." Yunho says, taking his hand off Jaejoong.
But the moment Jaejoong lies back down, Yunho rolls towards Jaejoong and the latter is wrapped with arms and legs. This is something he has to get used to.
Jaejoong cracks an eye open and there is no one next to him; he sits up and looks around and the moment he spots Yunho's silhouette in the balcony, walking around and talking on his phone- Jaejoong falls back into slumber.
When Jaejoong finally wakes up, he stretches on the bed and yawns loudly. He hears a chuckle and he looks up from the fort of pillows that surrounds him. He sees Yunho, dressed in a formal shirt and fixing his cuffs. "Good morning, hubby." Yunho smiles in good humour.
"Are you usually so well dressed for breakfast?" Jaejoong yawns. "Because that would give me a complex."
Yunho gives a short laugh; "Nah, I usually eat my breakfast in my boxers."
"Then?"
"Err." Yunho hesitates. "So, this client called and he's here in Bali and he wanted to meet about something and- yeah." Yunho grins sheepishly.
"You packed your business suit when you were supposed to be on your honeymoon?" Jaejoong raises his eyebrow in question.
"Nope." Yunho says, donning on his suit jacket. "Got it flown in half hour ago."
"Of course." Jaejoong rolls his eyes. "Priorities, right?"
"I'm sorry. I really am, but I'll be back before noon. You can have breakfast and walk around and check out the shops?" Yunho suggests.
"Spending my honeymoon alone, I have always dreamt about this."
"Jaejoong." Yunho looks so guilt ridden and sad that Jaejoong almost feels bad. Almost.
"It's fine." Jaejoong sighs, falling back into the plush pillows. "I understand. Go. I'll meet you for lunch, yes?"
"Absolutely." Yunho smiles with relief and walks to Jaejoong to squeezes his hand. "You're the best."
"I know. You owe for not only taking up all my personal space but also ditching me on our honeymoon."
"I'll make it up real good, Mr Kim." Yunho grins and picking up his phone, walks out of the room.
Jaejoong slips back into slumber the moment he curls around his pillows.
As he walks along the sea shore, he's quite glad he's dressed lightly because the humidity is killing him. The waves from the ocean that wets his bare feet is his saving grace. He stops to enjoy the clear blue ocean and looks out at the horizon; the sky and the ocean seem to merge together so beautifully, it's almost like poetry. Jaejoong sighs heavily and pulls out his phone to click pictures; when he's gotten enough selcas and pictures of waves crashing on to the shores, he decides it's about time he feeds himself.
He walks into a nearby shack and for a good minute or two, stands by the foot fan that's placed at the entrance.
"I could position it in your direction, if you have a seat."
Jaejoong jumps out of shock when he hears someone talking to him in his native tongue and turns in the direction of the voice; he sees a Korean man in blue shorts and a blank tank top, he's got his hair tied up in a ponytail and there is ready smile on his face. "Sorry." Jaejoong smiles. "I just needed some cooling."
"Understandable." The man nods. "Would you like a seat?"
"Yes please."
"For how many?"
"Just for one, thank you."
"Right this way." The man smiles and gestures for Jaejoong to follow him. Once seated, Jaejoong is handed a menu and as promised, the fan is positioned towards him. "Thank you!" Jaejoong grins.
"Call me once you're ready to order, I'll be by the counter." The man says and walks away.
As Jaejoong scans the menu and contemplates over what to eat, his phone buzzes. It's a message from Yunho.
Done with meeting. Where should I meet you?
Oh, right. The husband.
Throughout his life, even though he grew up in a big family of eight sisters, Jaejoong was used to staying alone and going off to vacations on his own. He was not used to being answerable to anyone but his parents and his two eldest sisters.
Jaejoong quickly types out the address of the location and calls out to the man he had met earlier.
"I'd like a glass of orange juice and a chicken sandwich, please." He says.
"Gotcha. My name is Yoochun, by the way." The man says.
"Hello, I'm Jaejoong."
Yoochun snorts. "I know who you are; your face is all over the tabloids, in case you haven't noticed."
Jaejoong shrugs. "Oh well, I hope I get some celebrity discount."
"No such policy, Jaejoong-sshi." Yoochun smiles. "You're going to be treated like any normal customer here."
Jaejoong grins. "That's very comforting, trust me."
"Are we expecting your other half as well?"
It's on the tip of Jaejoong's tongue to say that Yunho is in no way his other half but, he stops himself. "Yeah, he's on his way here."
"Great." Yoochun smiles. "No offence, but I don't think the both of you are any kind of a power couple."
"Mutual feels, Yoochun-sshi." Jaejoong smiles.
When Yoochun walks away to get Jaejoong's order, he sends out a text to Yunho.
Do you want me to order for you?
He puts his phone aside and looks out at the people lounging on the sand, getting a tan and bathing in the sun. He doesn't notice Yunho stepping into the shack and only when Yunho stands in front of him does Jaejoong look up.
"That was quick." Jaejoong says, smiling widely.
"Yeah, I'm pretty ninja like that."
"I'm sure you are. But you, sir, need to understand that treating me like a teddy bear in your sleep won't show well on your ninja resume."
"I'm sorry I like cuddling in my sleep." Yunho says. "I have always done so since I was a kid."
"Did you have a teddy bear when you were growing up or something?" Jaejoong asks, narrowing his eyes.
"Maybe." Yunho says, looking away and taking off his suit jacket.
Jaejoong momentarily appreciates Yunho's arms that seem to be bulging out of his shirt and darts his eyes back to Yunho's face. "How cute. Jung Yunho cuddling a teddy bear. That's adorable; I can hear your fangirls going crazy."
Yunho raises a finger to his lips; "It'll be our little secret, Jaejoong." He says, winking across to Jaejoong.
"Here's your order, Mr Kim." Yoochun walks up with a plate of sandwich and a glass of juice and sets it on the table. "Would you be ordering anything, sir?" He asks, turning to Yunho.
"Yeah, just give me a sec-well, I'll be damned." Yunho says, grinning widely and looking at Yoochun. "You little son of a bitch, I never thought I would see you again."
Yunho pushes his chair back and standing up, he wraps his arm around Yoochun and pulls him into a hug. Jaejoong can only watch in complete surprise as Yoochun grins into Yunho's shoulder and hugs Yunho back.
"Didn't think I'd see you either, Jung." Yoochun says, thumping Yunho on his back.
Yunho grins. "I see you've met my -"
"Yes I have." Yoochun says, smiling at Jaejoong. "Just wanted to surprise him."
"We went to college together." Yunho tells a bewildered Jaejoong. "I'm sure you've heard of The Park hotels."
"Of course I have." Jaejoong says indignantly.
"Well, you're looking at their sole heir."
"Oh my God." Jaejoong breathes. "So- you knew?"
"Of course, I knew." Yoochun grins.
"What are you doing serving food at a shack?" Yunho asks.
"I'm vacationing. Needed to get away from all the familiar faces and the family business." Yoochun shrugs. "Flew out here a week ago and this nice family wanted some help and I was free, so, win-win situation."
"Are you planning on returning at all?"
"Sure. Don't want Yoohwan to face the heat all by himself. Kid's too young. Anyway, you honeymooning couple should be out enjoying yourself, don't let me interrupt and of course, leave it to Jung Yunho to come to the beach in a damned three piece suit."
"I had work."
"Of course you did. Anyway, excuse me." Yoochun smiles and walks out on the couple.
"He seems cool." Jaejoong says. "I mean he's an heir to an empire too but he knows how to vacation, you know? Unlike some people."
Yunho rolls his eyes and pulls Jaejoong's glass of juice towards himself. "This is yummy."
"Sure is." Jaejoong says taking a bite off his sandwich.
Yunho insists they head back to their hotel, he wants a change of clothes and honestly, it is way too humid and hot for him to walk around the beach in a suit. When Yunho gets a change of clothes, they head back to the beach and Jaejoong goes mental, he shoves his bag and shades into Yunho's hands and runs towards the sea. Yunho watches as the twenty year old jumps around in the ocean.
"Don't be so boring, Mr Jung." Jaejoong calls out. "I've tested the waters and I think it will suit your royal taste."
Yunho puts down Jaejoong's bag and shades and threads into the water. "Well done, Mr Kim." Yunho says, flicking water on to Jaejoong's face. "The water is amazing."
"Told you!" Jaejoong squeals, jumping around.
"What do you wanna do today?" Yunho asks, once the couple have decided to cool off under the shade.
"You mean you're free today? Like you don't have work?"
"Jaejoong."
"Okay, sorry!" Jaejoong giggles. "Today, hmm, I wanna drink."
"Like alcohol?"
"Yep." Jaejoong nods. "I have never been drunk in my life."
"Really now?" Yunho grins. "You're graduating college in a year and you've never gotten drunk."
"I never had anyone to drink with." Jaejoong shrugs.
"What about your friends?"
"Uhm, never had any friends per se. I mean, sure I've had classmates and people but you know, never friends."
Yunho bites his lip in contemplation and stands up; "Come on." Yunho says, brushing sand off his pants.
"Where to?" Jaejoong asks, frowning.
"I, Jung Yunho, have taken it upon myself to make sure you get drunk."
"Really?" Jaejoong grins, jumping up.
"Yep." Yunho nods, walking towards their hotel. "No husband of mine is going to stay sober."
"Best holiday ever." Jaejoong laughs, running behind Yunho and jumping on to his back. Yunho feels like the air has been kicked out of his lungs but he grins as he holds Jaejoong's legs.
"Brat." Yunho laughs as Jaejoong fixes his shades on.
"Quiet, soldier and forward march!" Jaejoong says, pointing towards their hotel.
"For someone who has never been drunk before, you have the alcohol capacity of a God." Yunho says, nursing his glass of whisky.
Jaejoong is done with two cocktails and a beer and he's feeling perfectly fine. "What's the big deal about drinking anyway? I don't really feel anything."
Yunho sighs; "Never mind." He finishes his drink and asks for the bill. "Shall we head back to our room?" Yunho asks.
"Yes please." Jaejoong says. "I'm feeling damn sleepy and I wouldn't mind a nap before dinner."
"C'mon." Yunho gets his card back and waits for Jaejoong.
"Wow okay I may be really drowsy." Jaejoong says and Yunho holds out a hand for Jaejoong and the latter leans into Yunho's body.
"I am going to take a wild guess here and say that alcohol makes you sleepy." Yunho chuckles, wrapping an arm around Jaejoong's shoulders.
"Yeah maybe." Jaejoong yawns.
Once they reach their room, Jaejoong plops on to their bed; he yawns for the umpteenth time, as he shakes his flip flips off. "Have you dated before?" Jaejoong asks, falling into the fort of pillows.
"Hmm?" Yunho walks out of the bathroom in his boxers.
"You know boyfriends? Girlfriends?" Jaejoong asks, making place for Yunho on the bed.
"Well," Yunho grins mischievously. "I have had one girlfriend in school and two boyfriends in college - none of them serious, of course."
"Really?" Jaejoong asks, wide eyed. "That's so cool."
"Why? What about you?"
"I went on a date - just once. With this nice boy. But that's about it."
"Aw." Yunho ruffles his hair. "That's sad."
"I know! You've had such a colourful past."
"Well, it's not really a rainbow but it's something."
"Tell me about them."
"About what?"
"Your relationships."
"Why?"
"Uh, because we are married and I know zilch about you and I would like to begin somewhere."
"But relationships, really?"
"Yes, really. So you dated the girl when you were-?"
"Uh, Suelgi was during my freshman year at college." Yunho screws his face in thought. "We were together in most classes."
"Why did you break up?"
"She got really serious about our relationship. I mean really serious; she was talking about taking family vacations together and crap."
Jaejoong wriggles his eyebrows in amusement. "Did you dump her?"
"Like a hot potato." Yunho laughs.
"First kiss?"
"High school, when I was sixteen. He played forwards in our soccer team."
"How cliché. I bet you forced him into a kiss and after fighting it out for a while, he gave in huh?"
"Actually, he kissed me after a game. It wasn't a surprise, at least I wasn’t surprised. Junsu was a little taken back."
“Did you date him later?”
“Oh God, no. I didn’t even like him. He wanted to date me though; he stalked me around school like crazy.”
"You know it looks like I've chained a heartbreaker." Jaejoong says.
"You may very well have, Mr Kim." Yunho grins. "Your turn."
“No wait, your turn isn’t over.” Jaejoong argues, sitting up piqued with interest. “The first time you had sex?”
“You are a curious kitten, aren’t you?”
“Yes, now tell me.”
“Weren’t you sleepy?”
“Yunho!”
“I was eighteen, she was twenty and my classmate’s sister - “
“Hold up!”
“Are we talking about Suelgi?”
“No.”
“So…how many people have you slept with?”
Much to Jaejoong’s amusement, Yunho has to think; “Five.”
“Wow.” Jaejoong eyes grow wide.
“I am twenty five; did you really think I was going to be a virgin?” Yunho chuckles.
“I see you know how to separate play time and work time.” Jaejoong says with a raise of eyebrows.
“You have no idea.” Yunho says, locking his arms behind his head.
“I am seeing you in a whole new light, Yunho.”
“Now that we are on that page, I might as well tell you that the guy we met earlier, Park Yoochun, he was an ex-boyfriend.”
“What? Oh my god, really?”
“Yup.”
“It didn’t feel like it at all.”
“Yeah well, we separated on good terms and it was fine and dandy and besides, it was not like - “
“It was anything serious, I got that.”
“Will you look at you finishing my sentences, it’s almost like we’re a real couple.”
“Ha ha.” Jaejoong mock laughs, sliding back into the sheets. “You make it sound like all through your life you knew you would marry someone your parents would choose.”
“I did.” Yunho says turning to face Jaejoong. “I reminded myself every day.”
“Why?”
“Just so that I could slowly fall in love with the person I married and fall in love so hard that it should break my soul.”
“Oh gross, you are so cheesy.”
Yunho grins. “Your turn.”
“Hmm?”
“First kiss?”
“Well, his name was Dongwan, he was one of my sisters’ friend’s brother. He came to my room one day and kissed me and then asked me out.”
“Aw, that’s cute.” Yunho says.
“Yeah, we then went out on a date to the park, I went down on him and we broke up a couple of days after that.”
“Oh, that’s - wait what?”
“What?” Jaejoong yawns.
“You - what?”
“I dated him for a few days - about five days, I think?”
“And you went down on him on the first day?”
“Well, we were hot blooded teenagers.” Jaejoong shrugs, making himself comfy under the sheets. “And why are you so shocked? You’ve slept with five people.”
“But - “ Yunho pouts slightly.
“But what?” Jaejoong laughs at Yunho. “You thought I would be all pure and virgin like? I am twenty years old, Yunho.”
“Wait, oh my God, does this mean you’ve had sex?”
“Anyway, I am going to nap now. Wake me up in two hours, hm?”
“Jaejoong? Talk to me. This isn’t fair. Are you a virgin?”
Yunho groans and falls back into the pillows when Jaejoong fake snores; this bratty kid, Yunho thinks as he frowns at Jaejoong’s back. If anything, Yunho knew this marriage was going to be filled with pleasant surprises, at least for the first few months.
“You’re not a virgin, are you?”
