yunho/jaejoong | pg13
"Don’t fall in love with him.” Yoochun says, giving Jaejoong a shit-eating grin.

Jaejoong’s never had anything against Yunho, really. He’s never had anything against anyone but when his marketing professor pairs him up with Yunho for a presentation, Jaejoong feels something drop in his gut.

“You’re paired with the fag.” Jessica says when the class is dismissed for the day. Jaejoong makes a face at her. “Stop with the name calling, Barbie.” He says, as he packs his bag. “And besides, I am definite that his personality is prettier than your face will ever be.”

Jessica frowns and turns away and immediately bumps into Jung Yunho; he smiles at her sweetly. “You know, he’s right. I have a great personality.”

Jessica looks a little stumped but she walks away. Yunho laughs and turns to Jaejoong; “Thank you.” Yunho says.

“Nah.” Jaejoong waves Yunho off with a hand. “It’s cool. She’s a cold bitch anyway.”

“Isn’t she your twin sister?”

“What is your point?”

Yunho chuckles; “Alright, this presentation is two days away. How do you wanna work this?”

“Uh, mind if we work at your place? I have this huge family gathering at mine and I will do anything to get out of it. Like you have no idea, I am ready to kill.”

“Ha!” Yunho barks a laugh. “Alright, I live in the dorm two buildings down the road.”

“Oh yeah, I know. Yoochun lives there.” Jaejoong quips.

“Yeah, I live on the floor above him. So, tonight at 6?”

“Sure.” Jaejoong smiles and when Yunho smiles back, Jaejoong’s gut drops lower.

Yoochun’s probably the laziest person Jaejoong’s ever met and he also happens to be Jaejoong’s best friend in the world.

“Dude, what the fuck, my mom just texted me saying I have to share my room with my 7 year old nephew.”

Yoochun hums, stubs his cigarette and pulls out another one from his pack; all the while eyes glued to his laptop screen. “What are you watching?” Jaejoong asks.

“Reply 1997. This Seo Inguk is a bloody good actor.”

“God, Yoochun, that drama is old. Like so last year. I mean Seo Inguk and Eunji are obviously- “

“Spoilers!” Yoochun yells and throws his lighter at Jaejoong’s chest. “Anyway, I heard you got paired up with Yunho for the marketing project.”

“Yeah, what about you?”

“That dancer girl.”

“Kahi?”

“Yeah. She’s fuck hot, bro.” Yoochun says, taking a drag from his cigarette.

“Hmm.” Jaejoong shrugs. “I better get going now; I told Yunho I’d meet him at 6.”

“Don’t fall in love with him.” Yoochun says, giving Jaejoong a shit-eating grin.

“What makes you say that?”

“Dude, I would do Jung Yunho.”

“Yoochun, you love boobs way too much.”

“Well, if I had the option.”

“I am insulted. I thought you would pick me to be your gay partner.”

“Nah, you are way too high maintenance.”

“Well then Park Yoochun, I would just like you to know that - “

“Can you please leave? I really want to finish watching this drama and plus, you have a project to work on.”

Jaejoong makes a face at Yoochun and bangs the door loudly behind him as he exits the dorm.

Jaejoong uses the flight of stairs, takes two steps at time and when he reaches Yunho’s floor, he stops mid step when he sees Yunho’s tall body pressed against the wall by another tall body. They’re kissing with a mad lust. The boy, who seems to be taller than Yunho by half an inch or so, has his leg his wedged between Yunho’s thighs and fingers are combing through Yunho’s hair.

Yunho spots Jaejoong the moment he pulls back; “Oh shit, Jaejoong. Hi. This is my friend, Changmin.”

“Hi.” The other boy pants, clearly out of breath.

“And he was about to leave.” Yunho adds, giving Changmin a little shove.

“Yeah. I was. I’ll call you later, Yunho. Nice meeting you, Jaejoong.”

Jaejoong smiles and watches Changmin take the flight of stairs and nearly flies down. “Friend?” Jaejoong turns to Yunho, raising an eyebrow in question.

Yunho sighs; “Don’t ask. It’s too fucking complicated. Anyway, come in. We should start with this damned thing.”

“Yeah, we should.” Jaejoong agrees. Yunho’s dormitory is a mirror image of Yoochun’s except it’s tidier and doesn’t smell of cigarettes and that God awful deodorant Yoochun sprays. It’s a standard dormitory, two twin beds on the two ends of the room, two study desks, a common bathroom and a wardrobe bang in the centre. It wasn’t great but it was doable. Except for one thing;

“You live with a neat freak huh?” Jaejoong asks, plopping on the neatly made bed. “I mean it’s so neat it’s like no one lives on this side of the room.”

“Oh, hmm, yeah.” Yunho hums absentmindedly, pulling out his laptop out of his bag and placing it on his study table. “I live alone.”

“Oh.” Jaejoong deadpans. “Waiting for your new roommate or?”

“Nah.” Yunho grins. “The old one moved out because I was gay.” Jaejoong feels bad at how Yunho so easily shrugs it off.

“You know, that’s not cool. I mean you could - you should, totally complain against this guy. This is discrimination.”

“I know.” Yunho nods. “But, then what? It’s useless. If anything, I am going to be more snubbed at. And besides,” Yunho plops on to his bed. “I like the fact that I don’t have to share my bathroom with anyone else.”

Jaejoong chuckles and reaches out to his bag to pull out his laptop; “Shall we start?”

+

By the time they’re done researching and figuring out how to present their topic, it’s half past ten and Jaejoong only looks up from his laptop when he hears Yunho’s stomach grumble all the way from across the room.

“We should get something to eat.” Jaejoong says, shutting his laptop and placing it on the table. Yunho grins over his laptop and nods. “Yes, we should. What do you want to eat?”

“What do you have?”

“Uh…biscuits?” Yunho offers.

Jaejoong frowns. “Biscuits are for dogs. I want a good filling meal. Don’t you keep food for yourself?”

“I do. It’s just that Changmin gets really hungry after - uh.” Yunho hesitates and scratches the back of his neck. “Changmin has a huge appetite.”

“I see.” Jaejoong raises an eyebrow. “Do you wanna go out and get something to eat?”

“Sure. But I am going to answer nature’s calls first.” Yunho says and gets off the bed.

Jaejoong gets up and stretches out the kinks in his shoulders and cracks his back, he peeps out of Yunho’s window and he can see the light beaming through from Yoochun’s. He can imagine his best friend in the same position he had left him in four hours ago - maybe only, surrounded by more cigarette butts and some leftover bowl of ramen.

He sends a text to Yoochun saying: go have a shower, you creep and turns around when he hears Yunho stepping out of the bathroom.

“Where do you wanna eat?” Yunho asks smiles and everything.

“What do you feel about burgers?” Jaejoong grins.

“I love burgers.” Yunho smiles and opens the door for Jaejoong.

+

“Aw shit.” Jaejoong curses, as he’s about to unwrap his burger.

“What’s up?” Yunho asks, mouthful of burger.

“I forgot about the huge carnival of a family at my place. They’re going to pounce the minute I come home.”

“It’s not even a holiday, why do you have relatives over?”

“Sister’s baby shower. She’s expected to give birth anytime this month. Ugh.” Jaejoong makes a face. “I swear to god, the number of nieces and nephews I have - it’s disgusting.”

“You sound like you don’t particularly like kids.”

“I don’t mind kids, they’re alright. But it gets a little too much when you have like three nieces and two nephews and expecting another one to pop out and ruin your life.”

“Woah!” Yunho raises his eyebrows. “How many siblings do you have?”

“Eight.” Jaejoong rolls his eyes. “I know, I know, that’s a lot.” Jaejoong stuffs his mouth with the burger. “But whatever, they’re alright. Do you have any siblings?”

“Two. An older brother and an older sister. But we don’t really talk much.”

Jaejoong hums and munches on his burger; “It’s just that, I really don’t wanna share my room with my nephew. He’s such a pain in the neck. If he was my kid, I would have swatted him to death.”

Yunho laughs loudly at that and chokes on his burger and Jaejoong has to thump his back for him to breathe properly again. “Holy shit, you’re a riot.” Yunho says, wiping the tears on his sleeves. “If you don’t mind, you can bunk with me. I have an extra bed anyway.”

Jaejoong’s face obviously lightens up when Yunho passes his suggestion. “Are you serious?”

“Sure.” Yunho smiles. “You’re cool and we’d get to finish this damned project sooner.”

“That’d be awesome; thanks Yunho!” Jaejoong grins, pulls out his phone and calls his mother and Yunho can hear a one sided conversation and it’s still pretty funny.

“No mother. Yes, no, no mom. No I don’t want to. Yunho said he’d be cool with it. Yes, yes, I am eating with him right now. What? No, I don’t wanna talk to Jessica. No, I really don’t like- hi Jessica. Mind your fucking business, bitch. Uh huh, sure. I don’t care. Bye. Don’t let - is that Miyeon in the background? Is she playing my CD? Are you in my room? What the fuck are - “

Jaejoong stares at his phone after Jessica hangs up on him and stuffs his phone back into his pocket. “Can you fucking believe that? Those twats are in my room touching my things like what the fuck?”

Yunho chuckles and continues to eat his burger. “You and Jessica are so different. I mean, I would never believe you are siblings, let alone twins.”

“Yeah, she’s from the dark side of the moon.” Jaejoong rolls his eyes. “She’s like the least cool sister I have. Jinmee is the best, you should meet her. She’s so cool. She lives on her own in the US and she’s got this cool apartment and this patio that opens up to the sea shore. It’s fucking awesome.”

Yunho watches Jaejoong ramble with amusement, as he finishes his burgers and crumples the wrapper. “Who’s older? Jessica or you?” Yunho interrupts.

Jaejoong groans; “Unfortunately, she is older than me. By like twenty minutes but, of course, it still makes a huge ass difference to her. Anyway, enough about my family and our problems; my mom said I could bunk with you for tonight so what say, we go back to your place and finish this damned project?”

+

Jaejoong snores lightly in his sleep and likes to move around a lot. The problem is, the bed is pretty small and Jaejoong is clearly not used to it. He groans when his hand hits the wall and Yunho’s trying to control his laughter so badly. He watches Jaejoong scratch his stomach and flip over on to his stomach; he murmurs something in his sleep and drifts back to snoring lightly.

Yunho shakes his head in amusements, saves all the files on his computer and looks up when his phone buzzes. It’s Changmin.

“Hey.” Yunho says in a low voice, not wanting to disturb Jaejoong. “What’s up?”

“Hi.” Changmin replies in whispers. “Why are we whispering?”

Yunho chuckles a little and lets himself out of his dorm, he slides down the wall and sits cross legged on his corridor; “Didn’t wanna wake up Jaejoong.”

“Excuse me?” Changmin’s voice raises an octave higher. “What do you mean you didn’t wanna wake Jaejoong?”

“I offered the extra bed so he could sleep the night. It’s for the project; control that green eyed monster, Changmin.”

“I wasn’t jealous.” Changmin replies and Yunho’s smile widens.

“Sure, you weren’t.”

“Isn’t Jaejoong’s twin sister, Jessica?” Changmin asks.

“Don’t change topics, mister.” Yunho rolls his eyes but he can hear Changmin clicking his tongue in disapproval. “Is she or is she not?” Changmin asks again.

“Yeah, she is. Why is that so important?”

“I hope you know that she’s very open about her homo hatred.”

“Uh, I don’t care.” Yunho says. “I am working with Jaejoong. Not his sister.”

“The point being, Jung Yunho, you are mixing with the enemy.” Comes Changmin’s sharp reply. “I mean she hates us. Like she really thinks we are the spawn of the devil. And I am pretty sure Jaejoong thinks so too - you know the deal with twins, right?”

Yunho sighs quietly and lets Changmin ramble on from the other line; Yunho hates getting into these talks. He’s never been the one to pay much attention to hate. But Changmin always insists that Yunho should take interest and be an active participant in what’s happening around. And Yunho knows Changmin is right but hate and dislike comes difficult to Yunho. He’s a firm believer of live and let live. He’s lived by it and he’s pretty he was going to live by it for the rest of his life.

“Are you even listening to me, Jung Yunho?”

Changmin’s very irritated voice pulls Yunho back to the phone call he had drifted away from; “Huh? What? Sorry. I am tired and I can’t concentrate.”

“Classic Jung.” Changmin sighs and Yunho can hear the Changmin’s mattress groaning against under Changmin’s weight. “Are you going to sleep now?” Yunho asks.

“Well.” Changmin’s voice turns a little softer and sultry. Oh fuck Yunho thinks.

“I was hoping I’d get a little help from your side.”

“No way, Shim.” Yunho growls into the phone and standing up. “Go the fuck to sleep. Not now, not today.”

“Yunho.” Changmin whines softly and the heat that’s building around Yunho’s crotch could catch fire if Yunho didn’t stop Changmin.

“Goodnight.” Yunho says with a firm voice and hangs up on Changmin.

“Sorry buddy!” He says, patting his crotch. “Not all that lucky tonight.” He sighs and slips back into his dorm.

Jaejoong hasn’t moved an inch and his light snoring is still consistent; Yunho cracks a smile at him and pads over to his bed and keeping his laptop away; he slips into his sheets and receives an angry hate text from Changmin. He grins and puts away his phone for the night.

When Yunho wakes up, there is a strong aroma of bacon and eggs.

“Whaa.” Yunho sits up, fazed and sleepy and he sees a blur of a silhouette moving around the kitchen and for a split Yunho panics and nearly screams but then, he remembers Jaejoong and relaxes.

“Good morning.” Jaejoong smiles, walking out with two plates of freshly breakfast and places it on the table. “I made breakfast.”

Yunho tries to rub the sleep out of his eyes; “What time is it?” He asks, sitting up.

“Eight.” Jaejoong says, sitting on the bed across. Jaejoong looks neat and fresh, his platinum blond hair is nicely set to frame his face and his lips are curved into a smile.

“Thanks.” Yunho says, clearing his throat. “For breakfast. I usually - uh, I usually don’t eat breakfast.”

“I figured.” Jaejoong shrugs. “Anyway, what are you waiting for? Dig in.”

Yunho reaches out for the fork and loves the feel when the cutlery cuts through the egg so smoothly. Breakfast was always his favourite meal of the day but, after moving out of his house the only breakfast he’s had is the coffee from the cafeteria under the dormitory and if he’s lucky, a croissant. Or a sandwich. When his tongue tastes the freshly made eggs Jaejoong’s cooked, he moans.

“Oh holy fuck.” Yunho says, sitting up and holding the plate closer. He nearly swallows the contents in one big gulp and Jaejoong sits there, spoonful of egg midway to his mouth as he watches Yunho amusedly.

“Jaejoong?” Yunho looks at the other boy, after licking his plate clean.

“Yes, Yunho?”

“Are you God?”

Jaejoong laughs; “This was just breakfast, silly.”

“I haven’t had such good breakfast in nearly two years. This is not just breakfast. This is heaven.” Yunho replies.

“I haven’t had anyone thank me so much for breakfast.” Jaejoong smiles. “It feels nice. I am really glad you liked it, Yunho.”

“What? Are you kidding me? People eat this every day and don’t kiss your hand in gratitude? What a cruel, cruel world we live. Insure your hands. I insist.”

Jaejoong bursts out in laughter and he doesn’t know if Yunho is being serious or funny but Jaejoong likes it either way. “And you call me a riot.”

After breakfast, they clear the plates and decide to skip their first class to finish their marketing assignment.

“I can’t believe we are almost done with this.” Jaejoong sighs, aligning his graph to the text. “I’m almost done; I’ll mail everything to you. Can you compile it?”

“Yeah, sure. I am done too.”

“Brilliant.” Jaejoong sighs.

They go through their presentation once more and even they’ve decided they’re good to go, Jaejoong says he’s hungry and that he’s going to whip up a bowl of noodles and sausages for them and asks Yunho to help by clearing the table of stationery and laptops and notebooks.

When Jaejoong lays out the food, Yunho has tears in his eyes.

They head out to the campus and Yunho listens to Jaejoong ramble about everything under the damned sun. From how his mom knows he hates tomatoes but yet makes him eat it to how Yoochun should get a life and clean himself for God’s sake to how much he’s not okay with his family coming over and living in one roof.

“I mean, they don’t understand privacy.” Jaejoong says, balling his hands in exasperation. “I mean, my aunt once walked in on me when I was showering. I mean what the fuck?”

Yunho is trying very hard not to laugh and Jaejoong shakes his head. “Hey, uh,” Jaejoong stops mid-step and turns to Yunho. “Look, I know we are not really friends or that we don’t hang out on usual basis.”

“But?” Yunho offers.

“But, do you think we can be roommates? I mean, I can cook for you and I won’t even get in your way. I don’t even use the bathroom for that long - okay, that’s sort of a lie. But I promise to make it up by cooking amazing things for you to eat. And most of the time, I can hang out with Yoochun. Especially when your friend comes over. You won’t even know I’m there and-"

“Yes.” Yunho stops Jaejoong.

“…what?” Jaejoong asks. “What?”

“I. I would like you as a roommate. You’re …fun.” Yunho says, crinkling his nose in amusement. “And you make breakfast. Which is freaking awesome.”

“Are you serious?” Jaejoong asks, clutching on to his bag. “I mean, are you really, fucking serious?”

“Jaejoong, you have no idea how much I love breakfast.” Yunho replies.

“Thank you, Yunho!” Jaejoong exclaims, his eyes widening with glee. “Thank you so, so much!” The smile on Jaejoong’s face and the shine in his eyes makes Yunho’s chest bubble with warmth and that’s when Yunho stops and thinks oh damn, I could be in trouble.

“Excuse me, what?!” Jessica nearly shrieks, when she sees her brother packing his suitcase. “You are not going to live with that - that, that fag!”

“Watch your language.” Jaejoong warns, stuffing his things into a suitcase.

“Wait till mom hears about this. Let’s see how she’s going to let you leave.” Jessica cocks her hips to a side and folds her hands across her chest.

“Unfortunately for you, Jess, she’s agreed for me to move out. So has dad. And all our siblings. They believe that if I should learn to be more independent. For all you know, they might throw you out. So, haha!”

Jessica’s face screws up in distaste; “I am going to talk to mother.” She says and walks off with her nose in the air.

“Jess baby, it’s going to be alright. I know you are going to miss your brother but it’s about time he moved out. We really don’t have place around this old home.” Her mother says, walking around the kitchen and preparing dinner.

“But, mom!” Jessica stamps her foot in retaliation. “He’s going to stay with that fag!”

“Language, Jessica.” Her father warns her. “Why are you getting so worked up anyway? It’s Jaejoong’s choice. If he chooses to love a man, who are we to stop him?”

“Oh dad, please stop. You’re making me want to barf.”

“I am all packed!” Jaejoong arrives at the kitchen doorway, with two big suitcases and two small ones. “And mom, I cleared out everything, so you can make that a nursery for Jiyeon Noona’s kid.”

“Aren’t you a darling.” His mum smiles at him and makes her way to give her son a hug.

“Are you really serious? You are going to stay with that fa- that Jung Yunho.”

“What’s wrong with that Jung Yunho?” Jinmee walks in, picks up an apple and starts to munch on it, earning a disapproving look from her mother.

“He’s a fag.” Jessica says bluntly. “He like cocks.”

“Jessica, dear God. Go to your room and wash your tongue with soap.” Her mother snaps at Jessica. “How dare you talk about someone like that? Is that what we’ve taught you?”

Jessica rolls her eyes and turns to Jinmee; “Please, Unnie, please convince Jae to stay. And ask him to not stay with Jung Yunho.”

Jinmee eyes sparkle with mischief as she turns to Jaejoong; “Whatever you do, little brother, don’t bend for the soap.”

Everyone except Jessica burst into laughter and Jaejoong gives Jinmee a hug; “I always knew you were the coolest. And don’t worry, Yunho’s not like that.”

“And how would you know? You hardly know him.” Jessica points out and Jaejoong rolls his eyes and, despite everything, gives Jessica a hug. “Worry about yourself, Jess.”

+

The person who is most surprised is Yoochun.

When he sees Jaejoong pulling his suitcases into the dormitory, Yoochun stops and stares; “What?” Yoochun asks, looking at Jaejoong with wide eyes. “Dude, what? You didn’t tell me you were moving in! What happened to Kyuhyun? I liked Kyuhyun as my roommate.” Yoochun protests as Jaejoong lugs his baggage through.

“Shut the fuck up and help me, you fat pig!” Jaejoong curses. “And anyway, who says I am moving in with you? I am moving in with Yunho.”

Yoochun looks at Jaejoong with a blank expression; “I told you not to fall in love with him, man! I called dibs on him. Screw you, Jaejoong.”

“Calm down, guys. There’s enough of me to pass around for everyone.” Yunho walks in, smiling and looking absolutely stunning in his white shirt and denim pants.

“Hi Yunho.” Yoochun nearly fucking giggles and Jaejoong snorts.

“Need help there, Jaejoong?” Yunho asks after acknowledging Yoochun. “I would love some help.” Jaejoong says. “You’re a saviour.”

“Of course he is.” Yoochun pipes in. “And he said if he had to sleep with a straight guy, he’d pick me. So back the fuck off, Jaejoong.”

“Yeah, Jaejoong!” Yunho exclaims in fake anger. “Yoochun and I are totally meant to be, don’t you dare come in between us. Come on, Yoochun, let us have raunchy cowboy sex in a broken stable. You can touch my wet willy.”

“Oh Yunho, you speak such romantic words.” Yoochun grins and wraps himself around Yunho. All the while Jaejoong stands watching his best friend and now, roommate fool around.

“Uh, guys, help?”

“Go away, you dark witch! We refuse to acknowledge your presence as our love makes us blind to everything.” Yoochun sings. “Take me away, Yunho. Take me away right now and make sweet, sweet, passionate love to me.”

Yunho sniggers and pats Yoochun on his butt; “Later, Shakespeare. Jaejoong and I need to settle in before the lobby gets crowded.”

“Okay, okay, I’ll help.”

“Thank you!” Jaejoong sighs with relief

“Shut it. I am only doing this for Yunho.” Yoochun offers as he pulls the suitcase to the elevator.

+

Jaejoong pushes the last of his suitcase under his bed and sighs as he rests on his bed. This is good, this is great. He loves his parents for agreeing without putting a fuss. Jaejoong thinks it’s because everyone’s attention is on Jiyeon and the baby she’s expecting. Jaejoong mentally notes that this coming baby is going to be his favourite niece or nephew.

“All settled in?”

Yunho’s voice breaks through Jaejoong’s reverie and he smiles at Yunho. “I can’t believe this is really happening.” He says, sitting up. “It all feels like a dream.”

“Pinch yourself.” Yunho suggests, sitting on his bed.

When Jaejoong really does pinch himself and he yelps out after it stings, Yunho laughs out loud. “You’re…I don’t even know.” Yunho says, laughter still ringing in his voice. “Wanna go out for dinner?”

Jaejoong raises an eyebrow; “Already hitting on me, eh?”

Yunho snorts and cross his legs over his mattress. “Oh, don’t flatter yourself. You’re not even my type.”

“You have a type?” Jaejoong asks.

“Yes, it’s called Yoochun.”

Jaejoong laughs a little and lies back onto his bed; “Let’s go out for dinner after I nap?”

“Sure.” Yunho says.

Jaejoong watches Yunho lie down on his bed and he watches as Yunho browses through his phone and starts texting someone. Jaejoong wonders if it is that boy, Changmin, from the other day. Or someone else, maybe? Was he really not Yunho’s type?

huh Jaejoong thinks. that’s funny. I wonder how it would it be to actually be Yunho’s type

Jaejoong discards the thought and wonder how even it stemmed up in his mind but he’s too tired and sleepy from moving the suitcases and he drifts into sleep.

He wakes up when he hears yelling.

“…do you really - are you fucking kidding me? Shit, man. What are you doing?!!”

Jaejoong groggily wakes up and sits up, scratches the back of his neck. “Shut up, Changmin! You will wake him up.” That’s Yunho’s voice, in a harsh whisper.

“I don’t fucking care if he wakes up.”

Jaejoong picks up his phone; it’s about fifteen past ten in the night. He looks up when he hears footsteps stomping out of the kitchen. Changmin looks at him with anger; “Know that I totally dislike you and that disgusting sister of yours. And if you do anything to Yunho, I will personally chop your balls off.” Changmin spits at Jaejoong and storms out of the dorm. Yunho follows him out quickly.
“I am so sorry!” Yunho says, pulling the door open. “He’s just a little angry. I’ll take care of him, eat dinner if you want.”

Everything is fuzzy in Jaejoong’s head and when he sees Yunho stepping out and closing the door behind him, Jaejoong just slips back under the sheets and turns the light off.

When Yunho walks back into the dorm, it’s well past eleven and he’s welcomed by Jaejoong’s light snores and he can’t help but smile. He was never used to sharing a room with anyone - Changmin didn’t count. Yunho exhales loudly and sits on the edge of his bed. Jaejoong snorts and sits up when he hears Yunho.

“Shit, what time is it?” Jaejoong asks, yawning and stretching. “Are we late for class?”

Yunho chuckles and runs a hand through his hair; “It’s eleven twenty, Jaejoong.” Yunho says, suppressing a yawn. “And, sorry about earlier?”

“Earlier?” Jaejoong frowns, scratching the back of his neck. “What happened - oh right, yeah. It’s cool. I was too sleepy and tired to even understand what your friend was saying.” Jaejoong offers a smile and gets one in return. “It’s just. Changmin’s a real angry young man, you know? He’s studying law and he’s swears he’s going to graduate and become some sort of a gay right activist and the worst part is I know he can do it.”

Jaejoong chuckles and shrugs; “Hey, that’s not a bad thing. I am sure Changmin will be able to do wonders. But I don’t get why he hates me so much. I mean, I haven’t done anything.”

“It’s not you.” Yunho says. “It’s. It’s your sister.”

“Jessica?” Jaejoong frowns.

Yunho nods; “It’s that she’s hates us fags so much. She wishes hell upon us and Changmin gets real worked up about it but, I promise nothing is going to happen to your sister. Or you. I won’t let him do anything, I give you my word.”

“Thanks, Yunho.” Jaejoong smiles and adds; “I think I know what Yoochun meant when he said to not fall for you.”

“He said that?” Yunho grins.

“Yeah. I can see why, you’ve got some killer charms.”

“A man’s gotto do what a man’s gotto do.” Yunho shrugs. “Anyway, midnight snack? I am starving!”

“I would love to.” Jaejoong smiles widely.

+

As Yunho and Jaejoong had predicted, they hardly see each other during daytime because of their timetables. They have two classes together and they see each other in class for about forty minutes and then they have their extracurricular activities. Yunho has to practice his basketball for the upcoming championship and Jaejoong, being the head student photographer needs to compile pictures for their biweekly campus newsletter. It’s only when Yoochun decides to throw a pre-exam party do they actually have time to relax and breathe a bit.

Yoochun’s nearly invited about twenty people and everyone is so crammed in Yoochun’s and Kyuhyun’s tiny dorm but there is booze, lots of good, good music and tiny dark corners for those horny hormone driven college kids. So naturally, the party is a huge hit.

“Shit, what is this?” Jaejoong asks, downing another shot of whatever Yoochun’s giving him.

“It’s a secret concoction I created.” Yoochun grins, pouring more into Jaejoong’s glass. “Here, have some more.”

Jaejoong’s head is buzzing slightly and he loves it; loves the kind of happiness and lightness that comes along with being drunk. The music booms through his head and it’s the kind of beat that makes him want to get on the dance floor and rock his hips to and fro. “Another shot.” Yoochun giggles, pouring Jaejoong another and another and another (and another.)

By the time Yoochun and Jaejoong are done, they are positively smashed. Jaejoong is holding on to kitchen counter for support and giggling very, very loudly at how Yoochun is trying to walk through the door and is failing miserably.

“Oh.” Yoochun slips and holds on to the counter and laughs. “Oh Jaejoong.” He turns to Jaejoong, red in the face. “I think I am a little in love with Kahi.”

“Your marketing partner?” Jaejoong asks, cocks his head to the side.

“Yes!” Yoochun sighs. “She’s just fucking perfect, you know?”

“I guess.” Jaejoong shrugs and his thoughts wander to his marketing partner and roommate and he wonders where the fuck is Yunho?

“Where the fuck is Yunho?” Jaejoong asks out loud to no one in particular because Yoochun’s already found a way out of the kitchen; Jaejoong can hear him calling out for Kahi in the crowd. Jaejoong sways his way into the living room and he’s trying to push his way through the crowd when he feels someone pulling him back.

“Nuuuu…” Jaejoong whines. “Leggo.”

He turns around to give the person a piece of his very drunk mind but it’s Yunho.

“Yunhoooo!” Jaejoong almost immediately feels happy and safe. “Haaay! I’ve missed you. Where were you?” Jaejoong pouts.

Yunho chuckles; “I’ve been right here. You were just too busy.”

“Oh haha, yeah.” Jaejoong says, giggling. He wraps his arm around Yunho’s waist and pushes his body closer to Yunho’s. “Hey, hey, you wanna go out for a smoke? This place is too crowded for me.”

Yunho nods, keeps his glass aside and takes hold of Jaejoong’s hand and guides them out of the packed dorm. Jaejoong doesn’t even comment on how sloppy Yoochun looks making out with Kahi.

The both of them reach their dorm room with a little difficulty; “Are you drunk?” Jaejoong asks in a small voice as Yunho tries to open the door. “I am alright. Better than you, at least.” Yunho sniggers and pushes the door open. “Fuck!” Jaejoong curses, taking a deep breath. “Have I ever told you how much I hate staying in crowded places?”

Yunho shrugs; “You’ve mentioned it a couple of times here and there.”

“Don’t switch on the lights.” Jaejoong says, staggering to his bed.

“Huh? What? Why?” Yunho asks, looking all confused.

“Flicked this from Jessica ssssh.” Jaejoong giggles placing a finger on his lips. He pulls out a nice looking from under his bed. It’s shaped like a J for obvious reasons and the lamp shade looks like it’s dotting the J and there are some weird ass designs on it; Yunho actually quite likes the lamp. “Why’d you flick it?” Yunho asks.

“Because the bitch don’t deserve this.” He plugs the lamp in and the dorm is filled with a nice yellow light. The weird designs on the lamp shade casts nice little stars on the ceiling and the walls. Jaejoong and Yunho look around and Yunho turns to Jaejoong with a smile; “It’s pretty.” He says, pulling out a packet of cigarettes from his pocket and pulling one out, he offers one to Jaejoong.

Jaejoong watches how the cigarette dangles fragilely in between Yunho’s lips; Yunho’s perfect bow shaped lips. They even look like they might be soft to kiss and yummy to taste. Jaejoong shakes his head and pulls out a cigarette. They sit by the windowsill, lighting their cigarettes and enjoying the peace.

The thumps of the party from the downstairs is heard clearly through the open window and Jaejoong laughs; “This Yoochun. He always throws the loudest and the noisiest party ever.”

Yunho offers a smile and takes another drag.

“You are not a very talkative drunk, are you? In fact you’re not even talkative at all. You don’t talk much; I am the one mostly talking. Why? Do you not like talking or?”

Yunho chuckles and ashes his cigarette; “Nah, I prefer listening. It gives me more perspective.”

Jaejoong grins. “You’re quite the charmer, I hope you know that.”

“I try.” Yunho replies. “I just know how to treat people.”

“And modest. Tell me; is there anything wrong with you? Do you have any faults?”

“Oh, plenty.”

“Liar.”

“I swear.”

“Name one.”

“I sweat a lot.”

“Try again.”

“I am very absentminded. I’ve lost like three phones in the past two years.” Yunho says, blowing smoke out of the window.

“That’s not….really, a fault.” Jaejoong slips down his chair and throws his head back. He looks up at their dull ceiling. He wants to borrow some leftover paint from his parents’ place and paint the ceiling. Maybe stick some glow in the dark stickers. Or outline the shadows of the stars and paint them in. Or even, put up posters on the wall. Something, anything to make the room more colourful. He’s always been a sucker for bright colours. Like how he’s a sucker for happy and cheerful people; people like Yunho.

“Are you dating Changmin?”

Jaejoong doesn’t know how the question slips through, but it does. He tilts his head and looks at Yunho. The other boy looks away from the window and looks at Jaejoong, the yellow light casting shadows on his wonderful face. He smiles sadly at Jaejoong

“No.” Yunho says. “We aren’t dating.”

“But.” Jaejoong wants to point out that he saw Yunho and Changmin in that crazy lip lock and there was such chemistry between them he felt it all the way across the corridor.

“We. We are not really dating. I am Changmin’s rebound.”

“Oh.”

“Fuck. I don’t why I am telling you this.” Yunho laughs and holds his head in his hands. “I never speak about Changmin.”

“Maybe because no one asks you about Changmin and I did.” Jaejoong offers, sitting up straight.

“Yeah, maybe.” Yunho shrugs. “But yeah, we are not dating.”

“But you said you were his rebound. What did you mean?”

Yunho smiles and stands up to stretch. “That’s another story for another day, isn’t it?” Yunho rolls off the kinks in his shoulder and cracks his back.

Jaejoong watches Yunho very carefully. He can see Yunho’s rippling biceps through the thin shirt and to Yunho’s muscles aren’t exactly ripped; their well-defined and strong enough to make him look good and healthy. Jaejoong assumes it’s all the basketball training he goes through.

“Are you going back to Yoochun’s party or?”

“What about you?” Jaejoong asks, standing up.

“I wanna crash.” Yunho says, stifling a yawn. “I don’t usually party. I’m more of the stay at home kind of guy.”

Jaejoong has no idea where he gets the balls to do what he does but he takes a step toward Yunho and kisses him full on the lips. Yunho pulls back immediately; “What are you doing?” Yunho whispers in a gasp.

“Ssh.” Jaejoong takes another step and hooks a finger through Yunho’s belt hoop; “Ssh.” He pulls Yunho closer and kisses him again. Yunho kisses back slightly and hesitantly.

“No. Jaejoong. No.” Yunho pulls back but not really because their lips are still touching and there’s way that Jaejoong keeps brushing his lips against Yunho’s lips. “Stop.” Yunho whispers but Jaejoong’s slipping his arm around Yunho’s waist and pushing their lips closer.

“Fuck.” Yunho curses, holds Jaejoong by the waist and presses them together. The way Jaejoong kisses is a little wet but he’s got these soft lips and they taste a little like cherries and vodka. They move in sync and Jaejoong pushes Yunho on to his mattress.

“Jaejoong.” Yunho has warning bells ringing loudly in his mind. “Jaejoong, stop.” He whispers into Jaejoong’s mouth. Jaejoong smiles, hooded eyes and everything as he crawls on to Yunho’s lap. “Thought I wasn’t your type.” Jaejoong says, running his thumbs on the column of Yunho’s neck. He runs his nose along Yunho’s neck, his hot breath making Yunho moan a little; “You’re drunk. Stop now.”

“I am not drunk.” Jaejoong says, leaving soft kisses along Yunho’s jaw.

“You’re drunk enough.” Yunho says, grabbing Jaejoong’s wrists and pushing Jaejoong away. “I don’t want you to think I took advantage of you.”

Jaejoong fights Yunho’s grip and tries to lean in for more kisses but Yunho stops him. “Jaejoong.” His tone is firm and unkind. “Please.”

Jaejoong stops and stares at Yunho’s face. Realization hits him with a deafening thud; “You’re right. I’m sorry.” Jaejoong shakes his head and rolls off Yunho’s lap. “I am sorry.” He says softly, his head hanging in guilt and all sorts of emotions. “I shouldn’t have. I am not- I am sorry.”

Yunho leaves the room without another word.
