I received my contract yesterday...and full of good news!
First, salary is generous for a first time job *squeals at the prospect of having money to spend finally*. Second, I got a groovy title, or rather 3 titles! LOL. ie. Visa/Consular/Policy Support Officer. Third, I got some excellent news that I won't share cos this post is public but...something I had dreamt of becoming since little finally comes true *bounces happily*. And I get plenty of vacation days too! (inc. 13.5 bank holidays! :).
Anyhow, that was great, great news and everyone is really excited. I even get to play Back-Up Protocol Officer! lmao.
Spent Saturday X-mas shopping again...yep, it's a curse! My dad and mum are gonna be nearly equal in presents...finally. Went berserk when my mum told me she had bought my dad three more books...Damn it! So, I had to plan to buy some more for her instead. This business is driving me mad but I think we're alright now. Just have to wait for Friday for my birthday's presents *grins*. Always nice that. And a chocolate cake too *yum*.
Husband took the day off yesterday (and Friday too) so we could spend some time together. Also because we had 4 tickets for the Simply Red concert last night in Paris. AMAZING show!! They're my dad's favorite band so it was a present for him but we all went and enjoyed it. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen, regarding quality of both the singer and the musicians. Awesome stuff.
Today, I called my local tax office to ask if I would pay income taxes next year. They're not sure but there is a good chance I won't have to pay them as I work in an Embassy...that is for a foreign Government on foreign soil. Coolio.
Have to write some today, do an update and find what to wear tomorrow. I'm invited to the Embassy Christmas Party so I need something that's both professional and festive, as it's the first time I'm gonna meet the whole staff. *blinks* I think I have something that'd fit. Hopefully. We shall see :)
