Out of town for a bit.

I am a few short hours away from getting on a plane out to lovely North Carolina for a little over a week. Which means I will get home a scant day after my girlfriend leaves town for a little over a week. On the plus side, I own enough clothing by 5.11 Tactical to carry me through a 9 day vacation wearing only things they produced. Well, that and UnderArmour shirts, socks, and underwear. But the top layer is all 5.11 Tactical. 11 seperate, distinct, and complete outfits. And the only duplicate items in the same color are a couple of pairs of khaki tactical cargos. Although two of the outfits are shorts, which may or may not get worn, which explains the 11 outfits for 9 days. Oh, and I pack like a girl. Which means that I have a full duffel bag for the trip. Including a second pair of boots, a pair of flip-flops, and a pair of dress shoes. And two ties in case I change my mind on which one to wear at the wedding between now and next friday. Actually, I lied. I have 11 outfits by 5.11 Tactical, and a dress shirt and black suit. So I guess my entire wardrobe for the trip is not 5.11 Tactical. But pretty close to the entire thing.

By the way, I have a girlfriend. Her name is Kelsey, and she is wonderful. She is pretty and has a great sense of humor. And she is smarter than me, which rocks. Enough said.

I have been playing indoor airsoft. Not a lot, but once a week or so. Played again tonight. I played about a 'C' game all evening, which sucked. On the plus side, I, along with another friend, are being used as the primary technical consultants for an airsoft event happening in a month or two. Can't go into details, but it looks like it is going to be a neat experience for everyone. I am probably not going to be participating in much of the actual event. But I might be invited to run a training workshop for the actors to help them prepare for their roles and provide basic training and will most likely be running a training day for any of the participants who want it (want it enough to pay for it, anyway). Here's hoping.

Chris is leaving town tomorrow to head back to the land of sunshine and bad guys. Go Chris.

Saw an old friend of mine today briefly. She is looking wonderful. She lost a ton of weight since the last time I saw her about three years ago. It was good to catch up for a few minutes, and I am looking forward to catching up more with her when I get home now that I have her new (as of three years ago) phone number.

Saw another friend of mine at Sharis tonight for a couple of minutes with her boyfriend. Going to try to set up a double date with them when I get back.

Back to finishing up packing. All I have left is my carryon, but I am waiting for my iPod and Ipaq and cellphone to finish charging. And then the joy of disengaging my laptop from the 42" TV and mass of periphrials that are attached to it. This time, I am going to remember to bring the charging cable. No clue if the hotel has internet or not. Here's hoping. That way I can hide from my family by playing online games if it gets to be too much.

Oh, and the best news: My mother is allergic to cigarette smoke. So, 9 days without smoking. Go nicoderm patches! Maybe I will see if I can actually quit this time when I come home.

Bleh.
