July; July; My Heart Plummets in July ...?
I was chatting with shimdrashaul online a few days ago and the topic of my banana backed dragon came up. Many jokes ensued, and then sssage overheard some of the commentary and DECIDED THEN AND THERE that we needed to make fried bananas. ¬.=.¬ So after some shopping and some online recipes, we made what you see above. They came out beautifully! The bananas were rich in flavor and perfectly sweet yet not too brownly ripe. And the crusting auuuughh! To die for! Surprisingly delicious.
And now the Bloody Mary cake. We were all table topping over at Thomas' and his girlfriend decided to bake us a red velvet cake with frosting. She used an over abundance of blue food dye with cocoa which turned into a monster green color! However the icing that started off in the top middle of the cake had a volcanic eruption after the oven time! Thus began Bloody Mary Cake's might period! And she bled, bled, bled all over the kitchen floor with many of us offering our fingers to help save the day.
Thomas: "Since when did we ever own a red plate?!"
After the Bursum blow over, Renee's icing soon transformed into a magnificent glaze and the cake was served out to all the gamers! And oh my god did that cake look so god awful but taste so bloody good at the same time.
I've nicknamed it the "Astro Turf" of the cake world. Great consistency. The glaze came out to be a wonderful mistake.
In Other News- Got the Devil back last Monday. She's spick and span all over again. Driving her has raised my paranoia levels up a few notches which is probably a good thing considering my track record of backing up into other vehicles. Been planning on taking one of my epic bicycle trips to the western outskirts of the 'burbs and maybe visit the casino boat that's always parked by port. I miss my long nature rides.
