EC update 3
Last night somewhere between 4-5AM I was so proud of myself. (Which goeth before a fall.) One of the things I can't figure out about EC is how you don't do it at night. Beginner EC starts with changing diapers as soon as you realize they are wet/poopy. You do that day and night.
Last night at 4/5 we had a dry diaper, didn't want to nurse and just wouldn't stop squirrming. Duh, even at that hour of the night I can get the message. Pee the baby. Add that to yesterday's 4 catches and I'm feeling rather proud.
About that fall. This morning all 3 boys wake me up. Virgil's diaper is not that wet. Okay, time to pee the baby. First AM pee is an easy one. Open diaper, oh poop. Radio Brian. Hold diaper on unhappy baby trying to roll around the bed. Brian walks off w/ diaper and butt cloth.
I'm not sure why I didn't have a clean diaper nearby. Nor could I find/reach any of the other towels I keep in the bed these days. Turns out I was right. He did need to pee. He was of course off the end of the rubber sheet and pointed away from it. It also turns out my hand is not very absorbent and isn't a useful catch basin for liquid. Who would thunk it?
On the plus side that's one less diaper to wash - since it never made it on him. Of course there were a few extra towels to wash after we dried the bed. :)
