Dinner

I'm feeling satisfied w/ dinner. Last night for our Canada week we had fish sticks and poutine for dinner. I made the boys help w/ all of it.
Tonight I took the left over gravy added cheese, boullion, parsley (CSA) and nutmeg and made microwaved potatoes(CSA) w/ brocolli(CSA).
I was feeling really guilty about throwing out last week's brocolli.
Also included were apple slices and blackberries (the boys picked in the yard).
Okay, there was ice cream for dessert, too.

We got quite a lot of stuff at the farmers market. I have tomatoes and peppers to make salsa. Because I have so much time on my hands.... We forgot to have the corn for dinner so tomorrow night there will be corn.

Brian asked for greens but they are out of season. I picked up one of the last cabbages at the farmer's market and told him I'd make coleslaw but I haven't yet. I also have the brocolli leaves. Anyone have any better ideas for small brocolli leaves and cabbage? I don't. I don't like cooked cabbage in general. I figure 1/2 coleslaw and 1/2 kimchee since we're out of homemade. Of course I have no radishes so it'll be a bit plainer than usual but still yummy.

I think we will manage to finish this week's share even w/ Brian going out of town and the farmers market. We just need to eat the peaches super quick.

PS - Who on earth has room in their fridge for a whole watermelon? In the movies people keep them in the fridge but I never have that type of room.
PPS- While cleaning I found my recipes for zucchini. Phew! Not a moment to soon. I don't have one for making zuke "noodles". Anyone have one they like? I seem to recall its take a veggie peeler - make thin strips, sprinkle w/ salt and let drain in a collander for a bit and then treat like cooked spaghetti?
