Lots of frustration and lots of good.

Starting w/ the frustration ending w/ the good.

Got a call from the school nurse. They confiscated Galen's Rescue Remedy. Its a bit like confiscating chamonmile tea - except the chamonmile tea is probably more toxic and less calming. The scariest thing in the Rescue Remedy Pastilles is the sorbitol and well.... there's plenty of things in the school cafeteria worse than that.

Later I went to RiteAid to pick up P's flouride. The dentist had faxed G's RX to the HMO mail order pharmacy as requested but no one had a clue about what happened to P's. Um.... yes two kids and two pharmacies for nearly identical Rx is a bit confusing but maybe they should treat each patient individually. I mean Flanagan being such an uncommon last name and all I'm sure they only have 1 in their practice..... Hopefully we will have flouride in the right amounts (I'm a bit skeptical) by Monday.

The good. We have forms to enter poultry in the show. Now I need to figure out what we have. Our Polish appears to be a rooster. I hope someone decides to buy our Roosters because I just think so many of them are so awesome. Our Dorking (the giant one) started crowing this am. Very attractive crow. He's about the size of the Hamburg now and she pushed him out of the food dish this evening.

The deer seem to have stopped eating my garden despite its continued lack of a fence. The boys enjoyed broccoli cheese soup for dinner and then G. wanted beans so we made hummus by hand! w/ the black eyed peas I cooked the other night. Warning - small children given a potato masher and a bowl of something to mash w/ "eyes" can come up w/ lots of inappropriate/funny/punnish things. :)

As expected Perry has qualified for the gifted program in language and math. Galen in math. Galen did very well during soccer try outs and he should make the team esp. since the #1 factor is going to be age and he is 2nd oldest. P. did okay. Some great tackles at the beginning of Tues pm before he got tired. He was def. more tired today. Also the coaches are looking to see if they can dribble and hold their position on the field. Coming out of U6 P. does not do either of these things. But when he does get the ball he really smacks it down field - unfort. w/ lots of talented bigger kids it means it bounced off the chest of the other team most times and became their ball. I think there were less tackles by him tonight because he was experimenting w/ this new concept of a field position.

My aunt and uncle will be down this weekend for a nice family weekend.

I have 2 days this summer where I will be doing clinics in Harrisonburg/Front Royal. I asked for a lot of money to cover my time/gas/hassel. They said, "Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you. May we have another?" So my ego is a little puffed up over this. I also got confirmation that the previous manager did NOT like me and spent a bunch of time muttering to the staff that the Medical Director told me to ask for more money after spending the day observing me. New manager and I are cool. She likes me and I like her and she promises to let me know if any issues crop up. Still no clue what the issue was w/ the previous one. Maybe she doesn't like competent people? Most of the ones on staff when she took the position are now gone and the ones that remain tend to be a bit less go getters. Or maybe I just have one of the bussiest routes and they were looking at the fact we were constantly late and not the number of clients we were seeing?
