Character Dossier

How do you celebrate the holidays? When I can get away from Princeton, I spend the holidays with my family. My sister comes in and we go to our parents' home where we grew up. I don't talk about it a lot to anyone because it's easier that way, there are less questions and curiosities about my family and things that are left private

Family gatherings, love them or hate them? Why?

When I get the chance to have them, I enjoy them. It's a rare opportunity to be able to get together that way with people that I love. I couldn't really justify turning that away, or feeling anything other than a good feeling at it.

Do you get into the whole holiday thing or are you a bit of a Scrooge?

I get very into it.

Examples?

One of my favorite things to do, even though I'm Jewish, is to decorate the pediatric oncology ward for Christmas. I love to help string lights and make the entire place more bright and brilliant for the children that have to be there over the holidays. Even if they're only passing through, I know they're smiling.

What was the worst holiday gift you ever got?

A gift certificate to an auto body shop. I was sixteen and didn't have a car yet.

Did you keep it, toss it or pass it on to the next hapless victim?

Oh, I kept it. Those things have no expiration.

What was the best gift you ever received for the holidays?

A pink hat with two swinging poms. No, I'm not kidding, and yes, I still have it.

Who gave it to you?

House, once upon a walkway on a college campus long ago.

Do you prefer to be around people during this time of year or alone?

I'd like to be around the people that I'm close to. I don't think anything matters more than that.

I'm basing this off of Cuddy before the events of the last episode because I wasn't quite ready to write about all of the aching sadness yet. I wanted to touch on a fluffy, Michigan memory, so I went there for this particular entry. :)
