Reaction to Merlin, 'The Moment of Truth'

I apologise in advance for the lack of coherency or even full sentences; this episode had about 6 million and 1 things to squee about.

Ealdor looks nice and peaceful… oh, wait, here comes Kanen and co. to put an end to that.
“Find him!” Find who? Merlin? Oh, no, just farmer man.
Hunith, you’re a fool of a Took for rushing forwards like that!
Ugh, Kanen is SO creepy and lecherous :(
So Hunith goes to Camelot, and Merlin is all love and concerned and GORGEOUS.
Then Hunith manages to get an audience with the king. It turns out Ealdor is outside Uther’s kingdom, so he can’t really help without it being seen as an act of war - uh, surely that would only be the case if Kanen and co. were working on behalf of the king of whatever kingdom Ealdor is in? Whatever.
Uther’s known as a caring man? What?
Merlin is pissed at Uther for not helping.
But Arthur shows again that he’ll be a great king in the moment of win between Merlin and Arthur on the battlements.
Merlin says he has to go back, and Arthur understands. “You’ve been terrible.” Yay for the return of their banter!
Merlin has no idea about swords, lol: “Yeah, it feels good… very swordy.” Incidentally, does Gwen just have an unlimited cache of swords to give away to Merlin?
Aw, the girls are going with him :)
And Morgana is HOT in boy clothes. Or, you know, hotter than usual…
Gaius references Merlin being a lightweight when it comes to alcohol!
Merlin tells Hunith that Morgana is “the only person I know that isn’t frightened of [Uther]”. Um, are we supposed to infer that Arthur’s afraid of him then? Because I never got the fear vibe there… desperate to impress, maybe, but not fear.

And then Arthur and William have a spat because they’re jealous of each other re: Merlin’s affections. Or, you know, because they can’t agree on the best course of action when it comes to fighting Kanen.
Merlin: “He’s my friend.” :)
William: “You’re Arthur’s servant, nothing more. Otherwise you’d tell him the truth.” Oh, don’t be a wankstain, Will.

Merlin once felled a tree with magic and almost crushed some old guy. Or his house, I was a bit preoccupied with Colin Morgan’s gorgeousness. Oh, and William was really pissed that Merlin left. I can’t blame him - if Merlin was in my life and then suddenly took off, I’d be very unhappy too.
Merlin, if you don’t want people finding out about your powers, don’t shout about them.
“Men aren’t the only ones who can fight.” Gwen develops character!
Oh, Arthur, we know you’re not that much of a prick really; let the girls fight!

Merlin’s willing to risk everything to save his family/friends/village. “If he doesn’t accept me for who I am, then he’s not the friend I think he is.” Oh noes, I spy some angsty foreshadowing.
Oh, the Gwen/Arthur is really being attempted here. I’m not buying it, but I still like the way she’s being developed this episode :)

Will gets shot to save Arthur! Because, uh, Kanen wasn’t quite dead, apparently.
Will confesses to the magic so Merlin doesn’t have to! I like him now :)
Arthur shows his acceptance of magic to Will - he would definitely accept Merlin then. Unless he just said that because Will was dying… oh, IDEK.
Why was I shouting at the TV for a Merlin/Will kiss?

Colin’s crying! Or, Merlin’s crying… whatever. I love him. This scene was really well acted. Did I mention the crying? And that I love Colin?
Will dies, as we all knew he would.
Merlin LIES to Arthur! If Arthur is annoyed that Merlin kept Will’s pretend magic secret, he’s going to be so fucked off when the reveal actually happens.
Hunith really DOES ship Merlin/Arthur XD She’s also parroting the Slash Dragon’s lines, weirdly - “You’re two sides of the same coin.” Merlin’s no fool - “Yeah, I’ve heard that said about us before.”
Next week, Arthur kills a unicorn and curses Camelot…
