On a whole variety of things

We had this big fire safety talk at uni this morning, including about 5 videos of fires, a few of them real footage of serious fires in which people died. Appallingly, a lot of the students in the lecture theatre laughed at these videos! Granted, this didn't continue for long or all the way through, but the fact that so many found something humorous in footage of the real consequences of fire made me feel quite disgusted.
It's times like these that I worry for the future of society.

I also had a Health Psychology lecture today. I have no idea why I elected to take this optional module. It's not that I find it difficult; it just doesn't interest me much. I actually do understand it all - I can comprehend the biological terms and how it all fits together, but I just really don't care about psychoneuroimmunology. Tbh, the only aspects of biology that I'm fully interested in are genetics and evolution, and they're covered within biological anthropology. I really, really don't care about the structure of a cell, or what mechanism is responsible for the release of neurotransmitters, hormones, etc. I understand it, but the interest isn't there.
It's enough for me to know that there is comorbidity between depression and CAD (coronary artery disease), for example, without knowing why. But Health Psychology is only 1hr 45mins per week, so I'll just be content to moan about it occasionally :P

On a brighter note, the lecturer mentioned butternut squash, which cheered me up (kudos to those who get the reference), and I got a fair amount of Merlin fic written. I'm quite liking this latest one thus far, which is rare but very cool.

Also, the new series of Big Bang Theory started on E4 last night and was AMAZING. I was laughing almost constantly throughout the hour-long double bill. And yes, I realise I could have streamed it online when it started in America, but I enjoy waiting for some things (maybe that makes me quintessentially British :P).
My brain was doing the fandom thing and shipping far too much lol.
Anyway, I definitely recommend this show to anyone who hasn't seen it yet!

On adverts: This is late, but wtf have they done to Mr. Muscle?! I want the geeky, skinny dude back; this cartoon muscleman is shambolic rip off.
Also, I've seen the Coca Cola advert, and it is now officially Christmas :D

On Eastenders: OMG Tiffany is the cutest thing ever. She reminds me so much of my sister when she was young. It's actually kind of creepy. I love her anyway. And angry!Sean made a reappearance, smashing that chair up! Oh, he is incredible XD

On the RL angst: It's still ongoing, but thank you for all the lovely supportive comments :)

Finally, on the uni Merlin project: Thanks to everyone for leaving me their stories and so on. You're all extremely helpful, and those of you that asked if you'd actually given me what I wanted, I can answer a resounding yes. You're all fantastic!
