I overslept today and was late to work by more than like 30 minutes, and it got me my first write-up in the entire like 3+ years I have worked overseas for the D.O.D. And the money you are owed... I too am non-confrontational. My best friend from college has been rooming with me since September, we agreed on $400 a month in rent, and for that entire time (it is now January), he has paid me a grand total of $225. I'd like to kick him out but he has no job lined up and no place to go and I don't want to see him in a homeless shelter. At the same time I don't like feeling taken advantage of. So it's hard.
You're not a bad person. Katie and you both knew what you were getting into in terms of the long distance and your job when you got married. If she didn't think she could handle it or that the effort/pain wasn't worth it she wouldn't have done it. And even the best couples fight sometimes. I'd be more worried about you guys if all I heard from you was that it was sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows all the time. It's not a constant thing and a big part of a healthy relationship is knowing how to compromise and deal with whatever comes along. "For better or for worse," you know?
Anyway... I've probably been of no help here. But I do read your journal.
