adia/onew ; crack, fluff *vomits* ; request fic ~1820 words~
adia works in a chicken restaurant. onew is a chicken maniac. an undead fairy chicken is here to help.
Its' already burned eyes observe the view outside the glass, seeing a rather pitiful sight to be saved as its last memory forever. Silver equipments and machines that it doesn't have a clue about, pointy (sadistic!) things, some rusty on the edge (probably from killing its friends over the years), and fire. Burning, hot fire that rose from underneath its feet, making its body temperature rockets and it sighs. This is the end.
The last thing it sees is a sad, unstable teenager walking to its direction and she opens the glass -the prison of its misery-. Before its world swirls into a black hole, he wishes all the best for the girl who -it assumed-tried saving his life.
Adia takes out a roasted chicken out from the oven, unaware that it’s still dying, wears her happy waiter facade back on and shouts to the cook a HELP ME FRY THIS CHICKEN YOU SNAIL, WE'VE GOT MORE COSTUMERS TODAY.
Chicky the chicken doesn’t realize that his wish makes it stay on the earth. AND it has to help the girl find her true love. Upon the knowledge it just earned, it frowns and it began the search for a boy that is meant for the waiter.
It remembers a boy with apple-like hair, with small eyes, tofu cheeks and a dazzling smile that stumbles in front of the cashier, the boy that carries his body inside a box with 3 other chickens.
He seems like a good boy, it thinks.
Jinki is weird, jinki loves chicken...probably more than he loves his own life. That sure is an intelligent explanation on why he fails to do anything else in life--even walking without stumbling clumsily-- besides munching the crunchy skin of a fried chicken, or the juicy meat of the food he praises as god. Including relationships. Girls, guys, all had taken interest in him, but in the end it was always the same.
It's not like he wants to spend his life with a fried chicken by his side. Chicken will not last. It'll be gone within a minute if it lays in a distant close enough. But he's in the process of resisting, he said.
He's insane. His friends think.
"Oh my god, Jinki. Get up and stop eating!" His roommate Kibum whines.
Jinki munches his chicken like nothing happened, peeks from behind the chicken boxes and makes a face. Then he bites off the chicken's wings in one full bite and mutters something along the lines of Leave me and my chicken alone, bitch
The chicken spirit winces seeing how brutal his friends are being eaten.
"You know what, like, as your friend I am, like, seriously worried about you. When was the last time you went on a date? I mean like, really, Jinki. You can't waste your lifetime doing something as hideous as eating, I don’t know, things like FRIED CHICKENS" Kibum stops for a dramatic effect. His eyes twitch on the mental image of a 60 years old Jinki that looks pretty much like a ball. A huge ball.
"Well actually I can. And consider this dating, because chickens are my love."
Kibum shoots a horrified stare.
"Just because amber just confessed to you, doesn't mean that you can bitch about people's relationships. You date amber and acts like a girl in the relationship, for chickens' sake. Why can't I have an...unusual relationship like you do?"
“AT LEAST I’M DATING LIKE, A HUMAN BEING.” Kibum shrieks with his eyes threatening to pop out from its place. Before he reaches the door and makes an attempt to slam it, he stops. With a snap of a finger, he turns back and lets out a defeated smile “like, I’m sorry, okay. I don’t care if you don’t like it but I will find a girl for you-“ Kibum stops as he feels like Jinki’s about to say a word, and cuts him before he opens his mouth “NO BUTS”
Chicky the chicken spirit smirks.
Adia is a typical cute girl next door. The one that smiles a lot, probably has good grades and equally nice friends, a bunch of secret admirers and a steady part time job. All these assumptions are mostly right, except for the fact that she is not as happy as she seems. She longs for a boy that suits her, a boy with manly attires and a melting smile, a boy that does everything right and just...perfect.
However, fate doesn’t seem to approve.
"YOU'VE SET ME UP WITH THE CHICKEN GUY?" Adia shrieked, her eyes so big, she doesn't look like she's part Chinese anymore.
"who the hell is chicken guy?" Amber spares a glance to her friend, who is currently freaking out over a fact that apparently she doesn't know, flailing around mumbling incoherent things that only some animals can caught like what she did when her turtles-turtles, oh my god.- scrambled around her house.
"Of all boys..pretty boys you hanged with you just HAD to set me up with CHICKEN GUY." "CHICKEN GUY." Still shrieking, she begins pulling her hair, and amber starts to worry. "Ok, calm down and please, care to tell me who this chicken guy is?"
"No one." Adia insisted.
But Amber knows better, and she has tricks on how to make her spill. She simply stared at her with curious -and a bit threatening- eyes, and the magic happens.
"Just that ridiculous guy who comes every.single.day. to buy 4 buckets of fried chicken with different varieties of sauces and peppers and such. Mostly plain fried chicken covered with 1/5 bottle of black pepper hand made sauce." She stops for a while, probably realising how much of a creeper she just sounded and gives up. "Thatridiculouslycuteguythatignoresmeeverysingletimebecausehesalwaystoobusywithhischicken." Breathing again, she beams a laser through her eyes "Damn amber why are you able to do things like these."
Amber smiles.
"So you do like him, don't you?"
"Y-Y-Yes" Adia stutters an answer, uncertainty painted on her face.
"And what exactly is the problem?"
"Didn't you hear me just a few seconds ago? HE IGNORES ME FOR HIS CHICKEN. ME. I AM IGNORED."
"Oh girl trust me, you'll be gaining his attention soon. Me and my boy key will make sure of that." She says while rubbing her hands in glee with a maniacal smile beginning to form on her lips, an attempt to freak her friend out.
"Amber what is with your smile. AMBER WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO ME. AMBER STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME. AAAAAAAAAAAAH." Adia flails to her nearest escape, the door.
Amber laughs.
And a certain spirit who's standing in the corner does too.
They meet each other (finally) in a cafe two blocks from the chicken restaurant, all thanks to keyber the osm couple's initial osmness in dragging their friends by sugar coated threats and a tinge of chicky's magic.
"So errr. Hi? Nice to meet you? My name is jinki? I'm sorry I don't usually socialize with people except a few of my friends and...chicken." Jinki starts off awkwardly (of course), fiddling his fingers and trying to ignore the sight of the café’s logo printed on the tissue on the table.
"...I know all that"
"Really?"
"Yup."
"Don't you ever notice me before?"
"We've met?"
"I'm the girl who serves you chicken everyday."
"You are?"
“…”
"You know what this is hopeless. Don't you see me everyday? How can you not remember my face?"
"Wait. I'm sorry, you and I both know that chicken is the focus of my life" "but, I want to change, like, really." Did that come out fine? It was not the entire truth, honestly. At this point, all he cares was himself, and the big percentage of his extinction if he meets Kibum empty handed, and not with a slip of paper with a girl’s scribbling on it.
"I may look nice but I can be harsh in appropriate times, like…now. I'm out of here." Adia stands, completely disappointed. Before she gets to the door, she turns back dramatically to say "Thank you"
Jinki realizes that he missed the girl more than his chicken, and not because there’s no longer that familiar touch of taste in his chicken that Adia prepared just for him (he did miss her special customized chicken, to be honest. But chicky has its ways to manipulate someone’s feelings into something a little more complex.)
She walks to her workplace earlier today, and she’s surprised when she caught a silhouette sitting on the table already. As she comes closer, she sees a familiar figure (omfg it’s jinki) and she runs to the back door immediately.
Unfortunately, she was so focused on running to the door she didn’t see a pool of water right beneath her feet. So, she slipped. Well, shit. Waiting for the impact of her body smashing the floor, she closed her eyes, but then.
She never felt the cold floor. Instead, a pair of *manly* hands are holding her.
Jinki flew as he sees the scene. He quickly holds her, preventing her from falling to the ground. He freezes then, not knowing what to do when she opens her eyes, revealing a pair of beautiful eyes.
"You have beautiful eyes." She heard as she opens her eyes, just to see his eyes staring right at her soul. Then, realizing the super cheesy line, she chuckles.
"That is such a common thing to say, omg. And wow, this is probably the first time I see your eyeballs, since your eyes are so..so..small." she retorts a soft insult to cover her erratically beating heart, hoping that he’ll be too distracted and hurt to notice her burning red cheeks.
"You know, I'm usually the one who trips from air..but now I'm the one who saves you from falling. Weird, isn't it" Jinki laughs, a beautiful, beautiful laugh-Adia cant help but to record his sweet voice in her mind.
"Yeah, weird or not, I hope the invasion of your being to my personal space didn't have anything to do with this. Your clumsiness is not contagious, right?" She pulls an attempt to look seriously worried for her life, and of course, succeeded.
Jinki feels like giggling.
"I think not"
"Good. Because I made up my mind" Adia smiles, a smile worth a thousand suns.
Confused, Jinki was about to say something, but he was silenced by the action the girl was about to do. She moves forward, closer to him and pecks his cheek. Then, she pulls a sticky note with numbers written on it ---wait, when did she write that?--- and sticks it to his head.
"Talk to you later, jinki!"
Jinki freezes, dumbfounded.
Adia walks outside, smiling.
On the corner of the room, Chicky the chicken throws a fist in the air before it poofs into thin air.
what is this i dont even. i am sorry. ;AAAA;
