"WOW" doesn't even begin to describe my past week! In (extremely)-SHORT, I got my regular "male", "ME",-Headshots updated; I must say that they are so much more hmmmmmm?, what's the word?, ...REAL! Last weekend, I had Rick help me out, using our Cannon EOS 20D, and our Cannon Powershot A620. I've most definitely dusted myself off, brushed-up, and have sharpened my Acting Skills when compared to just a year ago! I think the biggest difference between the shots last year (which was "outside"-hired help) and what we got last weekend, is the fact that I'm 1.) More comfortable with Acting in general again; as I stated above, I've been taking workshops, seminars, and just brushing-up on all of the various Acting-skills that I've learned throughout my life! 2.) I've (some how?) managed to let go of EVERYTHING, allowing myself to be seen in "regular"-mode, and in a more "simple" and "raw" way!---Yes, I stripped back the whole "Glamour" thing for my "regular"-Headshots, ...3.) I wasn't rushed by some Pretentious Photographer (who over-charged me last year!!!), & 4.) I just didn't stop to CARE about what others might *think* about the way I look. In other words, I've FINALLY re-embraced my "looks", and have ACCEPTED that I'm NOT some "PERFECT", 100%, knockdown-gorgeous, Male-Model (anymore! :P)...and I'm FINE with that!---Surprisingly, this made a HUGE *IMPACT* on my Headshot results! *WOO HOO* Now all I've got left to update are my "Musician/Rocker/Punk"-character-Headshots, and then FINALLY, two new outfits to update "Carla"---my "female"-character. Rick and I will get those shots taken in 2-3 weeks. Then I'm finished for another year with Headshot Updates! *WOOHOO*
Then, I was cast in a small, Featured-Role, on the show My Name Is Earl. I have the episode # & all the info. I will post that later. I worked from Monday to Wednesday, and I was cast to only work in two-scenes total, but I at least got my own *SOLO*-scene---which is the "Featured-Principal"-scene of me playing "solo"-Pool. The Executive-Director was directing me to Act like I was shooting pool, by myself, at this Strip Club that Burt Reynolds' character owns. I must admit that it was NICE to be the ONLY Actor in a Scene, ACTING in front of the whole Crew! I haven't had an actual "role" like THAT since last Spring! So, yeah, it was nice to just be able to ACT again! I will also admit that it was very difficult to PRETEND to be shooting the balls around! I would take the pool-stick?(hahaha I can't even think I'm so tired!),...anyway, I would take the pool-cue and do all the actions of knocking some balls around, but I had to make sure to not really hit the balls as I was "playing pool solo". To make it look REAL though, I had to really put all the force forward that you typically would if you were REALLY playing Pool! I guess they're going to deeply edit the sound & make the actual balls on the pool-table move around? Cool, huh? ;] I do love the Technology available nowadays! Too cool. (Though, again, it was more difficult than you think to knock "air-balls" around!) To make things easier, I would push the pool-cue (sp?) slightly to the Left or Right of the ball, instead of stopping right before it actually made contact, or making the stick miss the ball by going above it. (*just documenting some SMALL facts here, so that I can remember this?) So yeah, the Director gave me some directions, and Voila, my scene was done in 30-minutes! The other Scene I worked in was with Burt Reynolds, and I was just Background in that scene. They had me continue playing Pool (to match-up/continuity, etc.), while Burt delivered his character's lines about 5ft. in front of me. It was a FUN time overall, buuuut, I did get heat-sick on the 2nd day, so I'm hoping that that didn't hurt me in the long run! I would love to Co-Star on the show, in the future, and it helps a lot that their STUDIO is only 10-minutes from my house! Yes, it WOULD be great if I could get some kind of recurring Character on that show! Hmmmmm, perhaps I should talk to my agent about that?---Yes, I do believe I will. I got along with all of the Cast and Crew quite well, so I don't see why not? ;] Now that I'm thinking about it, my Agent just called me last Tuesday to let me know that he has 2-different "leads" for me/upcoming Auditions. It would be SOOO NICE if I could just NAIL one of them! That would REALLY *HELP* me out Financially. I'm not struggling or anything, but I just want to MOVE to the West-Side of L.A. so badly! The HEAT in this Valley WILL be the Death of me, if I don't get moved in a few years! So, that's also why I'm pushing to get moved to that area. (Where I first lived when arriving to L.A., in 1999.)
Aside from Film work, I've been getting everything set-up to *possibly* go back to School this semester, as well as working DEEPLY on my MUSIC! I've got some VERY solid SONGS now, so I'm hoping I get the time to continue with them!
As the case ALWAYS is, there is a Thousand other things I could go on about, but now is NOT the time, because I need to go get ready for my Dr. appointment. I am trying to keep my journal updated, but lemme tell yoU,...with EVERYTHING I've got going on in my life, it's like trying to be a Director, Producer, Actor, P.A., etc...ALL AT ONCE, haha. It's true when "they" say: "When it rains, it pours." WORK IS HERE! SO I am THERE! ;0 I update when I can, so it's cool. I just wish I had the TIME to be on "here" more often...Some day...some day... ;]
