Who says there are no adventure sports in Hyderabad?
A few minutes of rain, and voila, we always have an adventure sport scene on - right in the center of the city. "Whitewater driving" is what I call this sport. Last evening, I drove through once such river from Punjagutta to Kachiguda, in 2 hours. The adventure was exciting - the main objective being to keep the engine on even in 18-24 inches of water. Had water flooding 'into' the car and I had to work with wet cold feet on the slippery pedals. The water had its effect on the brakes as well - the car refused to respond to brakes and was unstoppable. And everytime a heavy vehicle passed by on the other side of the road, it would push a wave of water towards me and lift my car up and move it a few inches to the side. Its way too exciting!!
An out and out adventure - loved every single minute of it. Though my car now needs to go to the mechanic to rinse itself of all the sins.
Reached home and saw the news on TV. The bridge I was gaily floating under a few minutes ago had collapsed.
Could have had been anyone in Hyderabad under that 'troubled' bridge located in the heart of the city at the time when it collapsed.
Do not want to say anything else.
