Shopping and stuff

Why is it that nothing happens in my life for months at a time, but then all sorts of things happen all at once? Why can't they be polite and space themselves out a bit more?
First exciting thing that happened was starting volunteer work at the local Oxfam shop (actually more of a boutique. Some of the stuff people bring in and give away for free is unbelivably nice.) This is because I really need to improve my CV and volunteer work always looks good. It also gets me out of the house interacting with people which I desperatly need, and it gets rid of the guilt I have of not contributing anything to society. I've only just started but am already learning things, which is good. For all I know I could be working in shops for 10 years before becoming a successful writer!! (I hope not though.)
Second thing was meeting up with the Bath Spa sci-fi and fantasy society for their last film fest of the year. I've always seemed to miss their evetns and meetings, but quite a lot of people have joined this year. I remember when it was just half a dozen of us in a little room! They have a gamer society now too. Joonas should be joining both next year so I can still be invited along!
We watched 'Hogfather' and some Doctor Who and people were playing card games and DS's. I told people about my cosplay plight and they were all very sympathetic and 'aww don't worry.'
Instead of the uni, we were in this bar and oh my god I wish I had known about it sooner. It would've made my uni years so much better!! It caters to nerds who like hard rock - Aka me!! We were in their little basement room which was called 'The Crypt.' So cool!! I bet it's going to become my new hangout.
Finally, today I went to Bristol to get the last of my cosplay materials from Fabricland. When I was walking from the train station to the town centre I suddenly thought 'hold on, I didn't check if they're open on Sunday!' I worried for about 10 minuits, then when I was approaching the shop I saw a sign saying 'closed' and I wanted to cry. But it was just because the door was being held open and I was seeing it from behind and I was all 'yay!!' So I got everything I needed for dirt cheap.
I got a birthday present for my mum then browsed the shops until I was tierd. I really love Blue Banana, the alternative clothing shop. I'm saving money for expo so I couldn't buy anything but I was very tempted! The shop assistant said 'you're still here?!' because I was in there for so long looking at everything!!
After I looked at the alternative shops I moved onto the mainstream shops like New Look and Topshop. Normally I really like those places, but after looking at the loli dresses and punk boots I was surprisingly underwhelmed, and felt like I only ever wanted to wear black frilly dresses for the rest of my life. Maybe it's because I spent all of yesterday listening to hard rock music in protest against Jedward. (8th place? What kind of world is this?!)
When I was walking back to the station, I saw a couple of people in cosplay. Then I saw Captain Jack Sparrow eating in Subway. I realised that the Bristol Comic Expo was this weekend and I missed it AGAIN!! It's a shame because it looks like they had some good stuff happening, but then again I'm already scimping for London expo and I know I'll spend lots of money. Maybe I dodged a bullet.
I'm really tierd now. My body isn't used to getting up and doing things every day!!
I really hope I'll finish my costume in time now that I have this volunteer work too. I've been very slow so far and my sewing is terrible. I already sewed my cuffs on the wrong way around and have no time to fix them. It's going to be so obvious that I'm a beginner. I hope people will be understanding.
So that's all the stuff that's happened to me recently. I hope the next few weeks will be exciting and productive.
