Entry 03 - The Boy Who Broke In
I've had such bad luck this entire week ...
I managed to sneak aboard the train bound for Midland Station last night (the one carrying the fabled Ark Scepter) but two other Drifters beat me to the punch. One of them was guarding the treasure while the other guy was trying to steal it. Then some girl had to stumble into the middle of things. There was a bit of confusion while the girl started asking a bunch of stupid questions.
And get this, three more Drifters show up to steal the Ark Scepter, so I had to team up with Virginia, Clive, and Gallows to fight them off. Some guy calling himself Janus Cascade. He's a pretty well-known Drifter in these parts. Unfortunately, Janus and his posse hitched a ride on a passing train before I could really put the hurt on them.
So now I'm stuck with these three jokers for the time being. Gallows is some kind of priest (or so he claims) of the Baskar. The Ark Scepter was headed in that direction, so now we're being paid to deliver it to the Baskar Colony, which is about a day's travel north of here. As soon as we're done with this job, I'm cutting out to look for better work.
