I was super happy with how everything turned out. The lab coat was made out of the Mad Scientist costume (major alterations). Step-by-step instructions can be found here:

I had to work on Halloween and ended up wearing the costume for the entire 6pm to 2am shift. Good news: everyone loved the costume (tips :-D ). Bad news: car-hoping for 8 hours in black boots took a toll on my feet, and the goggles left a prominent dent on my forehead thru the next day (I secured them WAY too tight). Other than that, it was a good night :D
