Hello Everybody

Allen Bergles again. Yes the goggle issue is a fact and I have been in contact with Fibre-Metal (Mfg) and that goggle has not been silver since 1998 (est) yet it is still silver on their web site. So like the lab coat, the goggle the production company had was deep in a prop room for years. I have contacted 7 other google mfg and ( Read more... )

Using an antiquing type paint kit would make it not matter what color the goggles are. Though the strap still won't be right.

I wonder if we could find the right elastic and just replace it.... Painting is fine with me as long as all the other components are correct.

Yeah, it looks like the black knobs around the outside are all still the same.

I thought people were receiving the green ones you find on eBay, which look like this and don't look like the Dr. Horrible ones in more than just the colour.
Sure, you could paint them silver, but they'd still have the incorrect number of vents, and no ribbing on the sides of the flip-up lenses.

If you're in touch with them again, please tell them "Thank you" for going above and beyond, I'm impressed with how incredibly helpful they've been here. He even tried painting a pair himself to give us accurate info on results? Wow.

I work in the construction industry, and I'm recommending Morton Safety to our OSHA manager as well as other contacts as an excellent example of both reasonable prices and excellent customer service.

Can we confirm that Morton Safety is not Pendergast Safety?

Well, Pendergast were downright nasty and said "just go away", while Morton were very helpful and said things like "We are honored to be the site of choice to honor Dr. Horrible. We are putting together a deal and we are going to be giving a discount when you purchase the whole costume."

Also, Pendergast are based in Philadelpia, PA while Morton are based in Neenah, WI.

Hmmm, well they have different meatspace addresses. I think the problem is that they are using the same web-site company to sell, which makes them unfortunately resemble each other.

The Gateway Safety brand goggles that Mr Bergles mentions are indeed very similar. They have 6 vents, not in the perfect locations but close. I think would work in a pinch with a little silver paint.

See them here: http://www.gatewaysafety.com/images/photos/popups/welding/1610-1675.jpg

There’s a higher-res pic of them here: http://www.gatewaysafety.com/downloads/gallery/zip/1610-1675.zip

Perhaps Morton Safety has these?
