Happy Canada day.. and thereabouts

Hello LJ.
What a week.
Ups, downs, all arounds, a nation celebrates a birthday, friends drink, merriment ensues.
Things have been very interesting lately. I've been spending more time in my head, figuring out what's best for me, what I want and how it is I go about getting it.
I spoke to Carolyn at Cappa, they're using my article for the newsletter which is exciting. The possibility of writing more sits on the horizon. She also called me today for the possiblity of being a doula for a woman who's due within the week or so. She's supposed to call me tonight to set up an interview tomorrow. Here's hoping.
With this and Erika getting closer everyday I've tried to pick up some of the slack I've let for my doula training. Really I need text books. I'm working on getting those. And a birth ball.
Tonight we dom as usual.
I remember being in Vancouver and thinking how I'd it would suck to go to the same place at the same time every week. Sure it can get a little monotonous, but it's like having a second home. With beer! And punks. You know... "sometimes you wanna go to a place where everyone knows your name" etc.
Lots of change is in the air. You can smell it on the rain.
I've been wondering about the Mercury Retrograde, as communication has been wonky lately. No just with me, but like, everyone. Very wonky.

The walk from my place to Natalie's is a short one. Maybe 5 minutes, with my little legs. On it, you pass traffic, construction, Tim Horton's, the homeless shelter. It smells terrible. So much dust and exhaust. And there's a problem with the plumbing around there, almost the whole walk you can smell sulfur, that rotten egg smell. But then, right before you get to Clarence. There are these white rose bushes. And for a few steps, all you see is life blossoming and you catch the sweetest of scents. There's an analogy of life in there somewhere. You can smell it.

So while life has been a rollercoaster, I feel like I'm sitting at the front seat. Hopelessly barreling forward, not really sure if we're going to loop de loop or barrel roll.
But you know I always was a fan of roller coasters
