“Maybe we should take a break?” Meiling suggested to her girlfriend after lifting the lid of another box.
Tomoyo giggled, “We’ve only been packing for an hour”
“But there are so many boxes” Meiling whined flopping down onto the floor.
“Meiling has many things to bring with her, ne?” Tomoyo said, smiling as he girlfriend pouted at her from where she sat.
“I could just bring it all to Tomoeda and sort it back at our house?” Meiling proposed with a hopeful look.
Tomoyo shook her head as she came to sit next to her, “It would sit there for months and months before we had time to look through it” she pointed out before laying her head on Meiling’s shoulder, “I like looking through the things from Meiling’s childhood in your old bedroom”
Meiling sighed but lay her head against Tomoyo’s, “Okay” she agreed, “But we take a break after this box”
“A short break” Tomoyo agreed pulling a box towards them, reaching inside she pulled out an old light pink blanket with butterflies and flowers embroidered all over it, “This is a pretty blanket”
Meiling blushed whilst trying to look fierce, “It can go in the rubbish box”
Sensing there was more to the story Tomoyo held on to it, “Is this perhaps Meiling’s baby blanket?”
Meiling shook her head, “It’s just an old blanket” she insisted.
“A very pretty old blanket” Tomoyo said slipping her hand into the other girls.
After almost five minutes of silence Meiling spoke quietly, “It was my comfort blanket” she admitted, “I slept with it until I left for Tomoeda”
“Then we should keep it so it will always be there for Meiling”
Meiling shook her head, “I don’t need it now, I have my Tomoyo” she ducked her head slightly.
Tomoyo smiled and tilted Meiling’s head up, “Always” she whispered before touching her lips softly to her girlfriends.
