A First
Yukito frowned slightly as he secured his bike next to Touya’s, his boyfriend wasn’t supposed to be home until much later that day. Touya had been working as much as possible, at all his different jobs, in the run up to Christmas. Yukito had worried it might be too much but Touya’s studies hadn’t suffered and they still managed to spend time together.
Entering the house Yukito stopped and stared at the hallway. It looked like somebody had exploded a bomb of tinsel and lights, though in a very controlled way, Yukito thought it looked incredible. Slowly he followed the soft sound of Christmas music into the living room and, standing in the doorway, took in the wonderful sight of his Touya decorating a Christmas tree.
As he turned to pick up another bauble Touya noticed Yukito watching him and flushed slightly, not enough for anybody to really notice except, of course, Yukito..
“Yuki” Touya said, “You’re early”
“So are you To-ya” Yukito pointed out, moving closer as he spoke, “I thought you said no this morning to putting up decorations and a tree?”
Touya shrugged, “I changed my mind” he said, scratching the back of his neck, “I mean, you seemed to want one”
Yukito smiled, he’d told Touya that it would be special to have their own tree since it was their first Christmas in their very own place; he should have known Touya would take it to heart.
“It’s wonderful” Yukito told him and was rewarded with a smile that was reserved solely for Yukito. “Thank you To-ya. I love you” he said softly as he slid his arms around his boyfriends waist and lay his head on his chest, listening to the reassuring beat of Touya’s heart.
“Love you too Yuki” Touya replied quietly, his lips against Yukito’s hair as they stood in front of their very first, well decorated, tree.
