So Michael Jackson is dead. As well as Farrah Fawset. I was actually doing a 36+ hour shift so I was still awake when all that news started flooding in over here. Farrah Fawsets death bothers me particularly. Although she was much before my time, her story was inspiring. But cancer is a devious and dangerous disease that is often very hard to fight. I pray we find a cure some day.
Michael Jackson marks the end of an Era. I won't comment on his private life. But I would challenge anyone to name a performer with as much talent, showmanship, and drive in this day in age. I don't think you could do it. Performers like that just don't seem to exist any more. But I have to say, as unexpected and sad as his death is, there is still PLENTY of other news to cover. Lets move on AP, shall we?
Work has been hectic. I'm being held back by stupid regulations and rules that are making it harder and harder to accomplish my jobs. Plus on occasion my leadership just messes something up something fierce, and it always seems to be me holding the short end of the stick. It's very frustrating. It seems like no matter how hard i work I can't get moving forward. There's always another silly and pointless rule in the way. Plus my leadership tends to be very mercurial at times. So one minute I'm getting hollered at for not doing something, and then I'm getting hollered at for doing it without asking first! It grinds a guy down after awhile. However my spirit remains high. Luckily these long days are making time fly by. Granted I haven't done a single college course, but if it makes this year fly by I'm all for it. I'm feeling more and more estranged from the people around me though. I would consider most of my interactions with people awkward. So I've made an effort to not talk to as many people I don't work with on a daily basis. It seems to help this feeling, however now I'm starting to feel like I need to shut up to my co-workers and not bug them so much. Life is....interesting. At the very least.
