This was the first full weekend I've spent at the barn since I've been out, working, teaching, riding more then once for more then 20 minutes, and generally just being around to help and answer question, like I did before I left, like I have for the past 5 years

I'm sure after like, two shifts they'll be happy as punch to have you around all the time :)

And hey - I'm sure that if you ever need a "vacation" you could come stay with us for a while.

it's not about not being needed or wanted; sometimes there are people thought that aren't good for you or your life. or maybe they felt good at some point, but they don't have a permanant place in your life, and how your life is changing (or has changed).

the negativity you feel coming from them is likely NOT negativity aimed directly at you, but some people just aren't right for each other. the weeding out process is hard, and it feels wretched on those involved, but it is necessary, and it is healthy.

i think you should move. it may take one move or three or six or whatever to find where you are happy, but you have to find that place--and it's out there.

and there are other barns. there are other ponies. maybe you can find a part-board option that fits you perfectly, like the flexible one that i lucked into.

there are always options.

yes. i definitely think a step away from the old will be so good for you.
