What YA books are you reading?

I liked Les Trois Mousquetaires - it's one of the few French novels I've read all the way through. I wish I could find my copy of Le Chien des Baskervilles.

Haven't read either of those, though _Trois_ might me interesting. I just make make _Le Compte de Monte Cristo_ (my fav Dumas book) my first grownup read...

I've got a YA fantasy series, <>. I found the first one when I was in Montreal a couple years ago for a conference; I made some time to get to a bookstore. It's OK; would it be a hit in the US YA market? I don't think so. Stylistically and structurally, it's just not what American readers are used to. The author spends a lot of time *telling* us things instead of showing them, and it's slow in places. But eh, it's captivating enough to make me want to read it. I got tomes 2, 3, and 4 from Amazon.ca and shipped them to my Canadian relatives who met me at the airport. No international shipping or customs, yay!

I've got a copy of Le Comte de Monte Cristo but was too daunted by the 3 volumes of it. Your series sounds fun. Another author I find pretty accessible is Jules Verne.

Tea is awesome. Took me a LONG time to try it and make it a habit, but I really do like it.

You keep up your list, and I'll keep up mine :)
