Renovation pinboard-y post: The Kitchen & Laundry Room
If we head on into the kitchen, which will now hold more than one cook at a time, we have these cabinets
in this cream color for the island (with butcher block top)
but most of them are the same design in this nice simple maple
and the countertops are silestone in Grey Expo
.... So far, so good. Nice and clean and fairly neutral...
Oh, DRAMA. YOU WANT DRAMA?
Okay...how about Hirsch Jewelstone glass tiles for the backslash?
They read neutral one minute and then the light shifts and they go a little iiridescent! One of my very favorite things that we've chosen ♥!
Another "OMG I CAN REALLY HAVE THIS IN MY HOUSE?" item is this little old fan that I squeed over on twitter to a rather embarrassing degree! Sure it LOOKS awesome but it also throws enough air to make pizza baking in Central Texas summers (almost) perfectly sane...
Did I mention that it looks awesome. Yes, the entire assembly rotates!
...another mom-of-teenager totally sold me on the Delta Pilar faucet with Touch technology - touching on the neck or joystick-like handle will turn the water on or off and tip of the faucet is a pull down sprayer .
I'm assuming no one really wants to see the appliances..They're KitchenAid, Stainless...nice but not luxe or anything. Just good at what they do.
The laundry room (it used to be the back half of the smaller than one car garage but is now INDOOR space and level with the kitchen foundation) has the usual suspects: Washer, dryer, our not very old (but tiny and will now be a grain & beverage fridge) fridge

Instead of built in cabinets this freestanding kitchen unit from Ikea
The floor for both rooms is a 20x20 tile that pretty much matches the color of our oak floors but has some gray variations in it. The grout will be muddy dog paw Mocha.
