So now I'm envious of both my spouse AND my child. Great.
While Dave is eating his way across New Orleans and sending me pictures (and yeah, working his butt off, too) the Boy is having a couple of lazy days*.
He kicks into high gear on Thursday with the three day Summer Nanoscience Academy at the University of Texas. We just got the actual agenda via email: Spintronics, Laser day, Nanolithography, Metal nanoparticles and color...tours of four different labs with hands on stuff in each... Where was all this when I was thirteen? Aside from the fact that I was thirteen in, you know, 1976. Initially, I think he was excited by the mere fact that he was nominated for and accepted into the program but now he is over the moon.
I'm pleased for both my guys but...I wanna play, too!

Jul 11-Aug 4: Off to camp, his seventh summer there
Aug 5-6: Section Practice for Wind Ensemble
Aug 8: Family trip to Maine, Montreal

Aug 23: First day of Eighth grade
