...is that when you unexpectedly run into an old lover, with your teen in tow no less, it's not weird or awkward. It was GREAT to see him (and he looked wonderful, rawr!) but it wasn't until I was driving home later that I even thought to be happy that I was looking pretty good rather than straight from the gym or something.
God, we were both so EMO back in the day(1988)! Growing up is a GOOD thing.
My PSA for the day:
DO NOT DATE SOMEONE WHO IS GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE. EVER. FULL STOP. DON'T. REALLY. NO! I DO NOT CARE HOW GOOD THE SEX IS! MMMM! NO! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE THE PERSON WHO CATCHES ALL THAT SHIT!
ALSO: IT IS A PARTICULARLY BAD IDEA FOR TWO BI-POLAR FOLKS TO DATE WHILST ONE OF THEM IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A MESSY DIVORCE! Just saying...
Learn from my mistakes, grasshoppers.
It probably helps if the separated-for-18-months-and-soon-to-be-ex doesn't get it into her head that you were having an affair for two years (WAS NOT!) but still...
so glad i'm not in middle school
