bucking the trends, yet again

I understand that the general trend is to bigger and bigger refrigerators that have all sorts of nifty features like cooking dinner for you, helping the kids with homework, and possibly cleaning out the cat litter but geez...turns out I have a choice of exactly three models if I want a simple white fridge that will fit in my little 1947 kitchen*

As the owner of a 1952 kitchen, I feel your pain.

Not all of us own McMansions, and someone seems to have forgotten that in the household appliance industry!

Yup. 980 sq foot post war ranch. I love it but wouldn't say no to a second bathroom now that I have a teenager!

It would also be easier if all three of us had less stuff/bought fewer books. Ah, well.

I thought so but a couple that I liked had to be ordered either right or left swing. Who knew?

Good luck with the fridge shopping. We were fortunate when we moved to this house in 2007 that our stove and fridge from 1940s house just exactly fit into the available space of 1989 house. Not that much has changed, in other words!

I did find one that hits everything and we all like so I feel accomplished. Now I just have to do all the stuff that was deferred for fridge research/shopping.

good luck! I was able to get everything you list, but with French doors, and I considered myself very lucky!

I LOVE French Door refrigerators but one just would nor work with our floor plan. I did manage to find a 21 cubic foot Maytag that fits the bill and that David and I both like. Delivery on Friday - hope the current relic can make it until then!
