Ski Maine: Day One

Mar 13, 2009 20:08

Woke up in slight panic from a vague dream about piene fort et dure  to find niece's 25 lb cat loafed squarely on my chest. Sweet.

Day improved from there.

Snow lovely, Sky bright and clear, temperature  mid 20's, crowd low to middling.

A beautiful day of skiing. The Boy and I hit the bunny slope for a warm up run and then skied the South Ridge the rest of the day. I felt loose and controlled. And strong. I'm in much better shape than I as a year ago and while it's not obvious on the body it was very clear on the slopes. Yay!

The Boy was a little cautious at first but by the end of the day was comfortable again and skiing well.

SIL came down to work at Maine Handicapped Skiing for the day and we came up to Rangeley with her. Tomorrow: Saddleback!  Hudson's Highway, here we come!

Now: tired, weary, worn out (but not sore, Yay stronger body!) and ready for sleep.

made of win, wanderlust
