Last year I tried to make it to the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island, but that was just not going to happen. This year it *is* going to happen...vintage roller coasters, hot dogs, and mermaid madness await!

New things happen all the time
On Monday I am starting a new job. This means less time for personal reflection and growth, and puppy babysitting. I am happy since all that introspection was starting to wear me out. I like to try new things because you never know where life will take you.
Here is our pembroke welsh corgi puppy, Gimli. He is 4 months old and pretty wild.

Eureka, a loophole
Lately I have the worst insomnia. I guess I shouldn't complain as I suspect it is a transient problem. I blame this on being unemployed and dealing with some seriously crazy behavior from a certain family member. I think that my mum is stalking my sister's myspace page. Does that make any sense at all? Not really, but the whole thing is starting to turn into a John Waters style horror film. I hope no one gets knocked out with a leg of lamb. I suppose it is okay as long as there is no mint jelly. -

Adios sweet doughnut smell
My job is changing and I am trying to think of what I will miss. The smell of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and the office tuba player with his mid-afternoon picnic bench solos. -
Ideally
It nice to expect that almost everyone will be kind, and then be surprised when you run into the occasional jerk. But it's not that way, it is really the opposite. -
