Make or take a friend to dinner who's had a rough day
So I stole this title from a friend, but truly, I feel this is one of the nicest things people can do. Depending on if you go out to dinner or eat at home, this can be relatively inexpensive. Same goes for time depending on if you cook, what you cook, or if you go out. This is great for a friend rather than family or significant other. It's even better on the spur of the moment kind of timing rather than planning. To me, the best time is after a friend has had a really bad day and they just need something to turn themselves around. Story time :-)
For those who know me well, you know I have a tendency to freak out, perhaps too much at times. A few months ago I had started dating my current boyfriend. However, I have a tendency to run, even when things are going very well. So I call my friend Rebecca one night to let her know that I needed a glass of wine. I arrived and she greeted me with a glass of red wine. A few minutes into the freak out, Becca recommended that we go and get dessert. Chocolate cake sounded like the most amazing thing ever. Red wine and chocolate. In my mind, the perfect combination. I was in such a tizzy, I wouldn't have thought of it. We walked down the street to a nearby, fabulous restaurant. The chocolate cake cleared my mind and made me think clearer. Obviously, I'm still with my wonderful boyfriend, and I think part of it was due to the wine and cake (he's fantastic of course but someone had to calm me down), something I wouldn't have had by myself.
Have a Nice Day!
