Now that it's $3.25 a Gallon

Filling up someone's gas tank

Now this doesn't seem like much, but it is one of my favorite nice things. It's small, doesn't take much time, but can cost a little bit of money, depending on what kind of car is involved. While I think this works best for a boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse, it can work well for a friend who loaned you their car.

Simple as this. If you have their car and you only take it out for 10 miles, bring it back with a totally full tank of gas, even if it was already 3/4 full.

My story goes something like this. When I was in college, I was dating this guy. He realized one day that he forgot to pay his rent and the office closed in an hour. He wouldn't have time to run home (which is what he usually did). So I let him take my car. Since he had driven it before, it wasn't really that big of a deal. I had about a half a tank of gas left when he took it and he only lived 2 miles away from campus. When he returned my keys to me I thanked him and we headed out to the car so I could drive over to his apartment (again) just to hang out. When we got in the car I realized that it was completely full of gas. I was really excited because being the poor college student I was, it always helps when someone else pays a little here or there. I really appreciated it and I'm sure if you ever do it to someone else (especially with prices the way they are) they will really appreciate it too.

Have a NICE day!
