Impositions
No sooner are our children named then they are forgotten. We may keep them alive thorough their infancy, but we do not try to understand them. Instead, we impose our will on them; teach them our prejudices and our values. Parents cannot understand their child’s sadness, they have forgotten that time and have replaced the sorrow with that of adulthood.
The twins hold hands as they watch their parents, identical down to the ribbons fastened to the front of their jackets. For the moment, they are androgynous and do not comprehend the rules of society; but they understand each other perfectly.
