“Go home.”

Nigel gave Molly a disdainful look, pushing his glasses up before wiping his runny nose with a tissue. “This is nothing.”

“And you’ve been staring blankly at that laptop of yours for the past five minutes- probably more,” she amended when he didn’t immediately object. She put her the underside of her wrist against his neck, frowning.

“I’m fine,” he said stubbornly, brushing her hand away. “I took some pills just before you came in, they should kick in soon. You of all people should know the amount of work I have to do.”

“That’s actually why I want you to go home.” Molly stated in her ‘I already analyzed this scenario a million time’ tone of voice. “You need to really rest your mind and body, or your two-day sniffle will become a week-long cold that will drain all your energy. I’d rather you be absent for a couple days than have you shuffle through your workload at half-capacity.”

“But what if something comes up? You don’t have another pathologist with my clearance.”

“We’ll deal with it.” The woman smiled.

He winced. 'I can't believe I said that to someone who probably plans her trips to the bathroom.'
“I’ll check up on you tomorrow morning.”
