easy gratitude
today's gratitude is easy: I am grateful to the universe that I just got an abstract accepted for potential publication.
This came so close to almost not happening. The abstract was due last Sunday, and I meant to write it after the Lammas ritual, but I got felled by a stomach bug and couldn't sit up to write, let alone think around the nausea. but the CFP was so close to what I'm doing, and I liked my idea, so I wrote it a day late and send it off with an apology and the hope that the editor would look at it anyway, and lo, she did!
the essay is due at the end of December, so I am going to be Very Busy fulfilling all of my academic obligations, but if I can get a publication under my belt before I graduate that is a huge win.
Most of all, I am grateful for the confirmation that other people find my ideas interesting and worthwhile. I know will be a lot of work to get this ready, but it does work I'm excited to do and that is a tremendous feeling.
